Trump wants to stop arms race with China and Russia

To China, arms race is fun and easy to win.

China barely use a little finger in arms race and the US already feel the pressure.

What happen to the Pivot to Asia ? :what: Were not US planning to move 60% of their navy to Asia ? Did it not work ? :meeting:

They will win, but at what cost? If you calculate the real economy, instead of the paper pushing dollar casino economy, China is already the world's largest economy. Petrodollar is losing market share day by day, Petroyuan is slowly replacing it, coupled with OPEC being grilled by US shale oil, do you think petrodollar will be the only choice?

China is the only real competition, because we understand that we cannot bankrupt ourselves like the Russians.

I want the USD to be challenged because no country should be able to print money out of thin air while the rest of the world pays for it.

But truth to be told the RMB is far from challenging the USD. The RMB is more overprinted than the USD and the RMB itself depends on the USD to maintain currency stability. The RMB is kind of like a derivative of the USD because of China's bizarre financial system inherited from the Mao's communist era. That's why China can't dump US bonds as it will hurt itself more.

Competition is always good for the world. It provides choices for the people of the world. I think RMB is still OK, and yes it's international stability is tied to the Dollar and the same reason why US can't dump China easily, both will end up hurt. Trump is trying to get some concessions, let's see how this plays out, no point killing the goose yet. We are an intertwined chimerica afterall, we still need at least 20 years to fully absorb the technologies, marketing and management skills.

The world is in a competition that who will collapse first.
