What happens if we dont get the F-35s?
My country could kick out all US personnel and equipment out of our bases(incirlik).
NATO could lose the only Muslim country as a member.
The Black Sea would become hostile to NATO.
My country would leave Afghanistan(big deal,no Muslims,Taliban go ahead).
We could attack the SDF/YPG and take all their territories,no more US Airbases.
Invite Iran to the party but this time protected by the S-400(no more Israëli threat).
The impact on Israëli security would be immense.
All indigenous projects would get priority(TFX,engine projects,TF2000 etc).
Join the SCO.
Many more headache situations for the(to many) US.
Trump had to show his BFFs UAE and KSA that he is ''hurting'' Erdogan,thats all.
Not if but when we get them,he can say ''but i blocked them''.
Btw,you can change all the words 'could' to 'would'.

I have stated this before and will do it again for you.
We will get our F-35s as planned/agreed.

I second that. We'll have both at the end.

The moment the French are publicly offering us their 5th-gen aircraft, the Americans will miraculously have a change of heart.

However, this news is not surprising at all for those who were following this topic. We already knew that the administration had previously agreed to wait for the report of Pentagon experts on this issue.

So, up until now, there's is nothing new.

Right, the issue here is that this snake has two fangs. One of the them is called Europe, the other one is named Turkey. Being one of the two fangs has its pros and cons. But one thing is for sure, it'll hurt the snake itself if we become old and dysfunctional. Believe me, things will work out with America; one way or another.

France has moved not to have US components in its weapons systems after the egyptian missile fiasco. Other NATO members will take note as Greece was allowed to buy the S300 and no issue but Turkey isnt due to the jewish lobby.

This will be a bigger blow for NATO
I think turkey should withdraw from NATO but turkey is benefiting alot from cheaper loans from european banks and vice versa.

Some Turks here even believe they can lead Nato.

Turkey can switch to Russia for defense but the problem is how the two countries trust each other, Russia will never trust Turkey and vice versa. Russia broke the back of Ottoman empire and totally destroyed it which Turks still hold grudge.

The Turkish government seems to be steadfast ingoing ahead with the S-400 purchase.
My only hope is that the Trump administration will not make a big deal out of this.

Turkey is one of the most important country for NATO's Ballistic Missile Defense against Russian and Iranian Ballistic Missile threat to protect Europe even Israel ( Turkey's Kurecik Base hosts American AN/TPY2 Radar )

Turkey didnt close Incirlik in 1975 but closed US bases in Turkey. Incirlik is a NATO base and there is a difference between them.

Erdogan doesnt have balls to close US bases for now, for me he works for only US interests in ME.
