November 10, 2018

  • Donald Trump assured French President Emmanuel Macron Saturday that Saudi Arabia is the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East
  • He said he refuses to allow anything to undermine the Kingdom's stability
LONDON: US President Donald Trump assured French President Emmanuel Macron Saturday that Saudi Arabia is the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East, a French presidency source reported.

Trump also said that he refuses to allow anything to undermine the Kingdom’s stability, and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s importance as a partner of the United States.

The two presidents held a meeting at the Elysee Palace on the eve of the commemoration ceremony for Armistice Day, 100 years after the end of the First World War, in Paris, France.

The US and French presidents are also keen that a political solution in Yemen is found, and pushed for foundations of the solution to be laid.

Trump assured Macron of the effectiveness of sanctions on Iran, and called for a new agreement to ensure that Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons, the presidency source said.

Trump's visit kickstarts two days of events marking the centenary of the end of World War 1. Some 70 leaders will gather at 11 am Sunday (1000 GMT) at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe, in Paris, to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

Saudi Arabia is the most stable economy in the region.

Messianic cults want to destablize the region for their Twisted doomsday fantasies

Assad government, Saddam government and Iran used to be quite stable. Then sanctions and war.

and no one dictates something in saudi arabia...
It is a monarchy.. besides that, every government can be considered dictating things when it agrees on reforms or projects for the nation.. this might be the opposition opinion!..
And dictatorship is when all the powers are concentrated within one person or one party.. While in KSA there is Majlis a Shoura and many other institutions who study and approve or disapprove important matters concerning the nation.. The king oversees the governance.. might appoint people to key positions and sack others, but for all kind of reforms.. he might give the general direction, and the details are dealt with by different institutions who study all matters comprehensively and present their recommendations on which the final decisions are based.. it is quite democratic in its own way..

Seems to be a common mistake to think that US has dependency on Saudi oil.

The reality is very different. In 2017 , US produced 80% of its own oil , and from what it imported , only 2% came from Saudi.

you can read about it here :

selling oil in Dollar is enough for USA , it's not necessary for them to sell it to USA as long as you sell commodities by Dollars they can print as much Dollar as they like.

as if Iraq , Syria or Iran don't have a Majlis or Shoura or Congress or senate what ever you like and by the way when was the last time somebody dared to oppose Mohammad Bin Salman and suddenly some accident didn't happened to him or they didn't discovered he is corrupt ,or he/she happened to fall on a bone saw
