If this project was economically feasible I would have supported it regardless of politics but that is not the case. There aren't any reports that shows how this project will benefit us economically or security wise. Its pure business and I don't see anything gained from it.

There is nothing to be gained here. Recicropal relationship such as transit to Nepal, has no practical value. I somehow doubt this will float with BD people. If she still wants to go aheed without any gainful return, as you said before it will be a turkey shooting.

There is road link between Calcutta and Dhaka which is mainly used by Bangladeshis. Thinking of personally stoning the bus after reading comments here!

@ Yes, I agree with your point that it was handed over on June 1992 but in a restricted manner from 6 to 6. It was supposed to hand over permanently. Any time GOI is putting lot of restrictions.

@ Presently, the govt itself is in a hanging condition ? The point is if it is good for both the countries than definitely the majority people would support it.

@ Why you people are only dependant on Sk Hasina ? In Bengalee there is "Kahawat", "Am o jabe, chalao jabe". Remember one thing the majority of Bengalee people are by born anti-India, it will take some time to re-adjust and re-think. It is not like that you people will dictate and Sk Hasina would implement it and than after ward ----------!!!!!!!!

I agree that the relation should be more broadbased than with a single political party in bangladesh. It makes GoI look partisan. Problem is BNP has proved to be difficult to deal with, and GoI has hope only on AL. Hope the situation will change and relation will not be like a roller coaster ride.

I am sure from your side, you will say, GoI favours one party in bd against other.
I sincerely hope BNP comes to power, so that we all can see what they can do.

We cannot help if you Bengalis have an irrational hatred for Indians. That is why our government does what is best without caring about the irrational, paranoid BD public opinion.
