I went to Iran to pay my respects to their graves back in 2005 and decided to learn farsi; it has been a very beautiful journey; then of course life introduced me to this forum and urdu started to get picked up from here and there.Mehdi Hassan, great legend of Pakistan. Dear @denel ,
Here is my effort in translation...as you know Farsi and Urdu have deep expressionism built in the language. I am sure I have not done Justice to original poetry.
nothing or nowhere from subcontinent. orthodox jew of kurdish descent. very complicated family migration history. So I guess you an Indian with roots from Iran? Out of curiosity, are you Parsi or Muslim?
Iran is a lovely place, with a lot of history. I picked up alot of Farsi/Dari by getting into poetry of Allama Iqbal and Rumi.
Hope this helps with your initial query. https://desipoetry.com/khwab-tha-ya-khayal-tha-kya-tha-mussafi/

nothing persian friend - I am south african; yes, i am orthodox and follow faith. I probably one of the very few who also is very close to my fellow town's muslims who i grew up with.Did not expect that. I guess you would be considered a Persian Jew. Do you still view yourself as Jewish and follow your faith? Are there many in South Africa from your community?

Here it is a rainbow nation; we have people here all the world. Javanese moslems - approx 1.5mil who are here for over 300 years; similarly for jews approx one of the largest diasporas as well since 1910's as well i believe approx over 300,000- most are from ex-baltic states or poland but we have others who came from isreal as well; similarly, we have largest population of Tamils in Durbans outside SriLanka/India.
I wont be surprised; unfortunately politiks everywhere destroy peoples lives and their subsequent generations. I saw some interesting footage from Allepo; i may detour in 2 or three years if all becomes stable. Most like anything left of family links will probably destroyed.Very interesting, I once saw a Jewish temple in Lahore in-between some shops, and I can't remember the place, but i found that very interesting.
