Trade barriers hold back exports to India: Tofail

Tofail should ask his masters to sort it out....

Anyhow BD needs to press its advantages to Europe, US and the Far East.

Stop talking and do it weakling.

Anything India provides, Can be provided by Other trade partners of Bangladesh. There are reasons that China has taken India's place as largest exporter to Bangladesh in last 3 years.

However, We cant change neighbors. Its costlier to import from distant lands than immediate neighbor India. Myanmar is large in size, But I doubt they produce anything. So there is no viable alternative at the moment. However slowly India will go down as the major exported to "Beedee"

I don't think these barriers would be lifted anytime soon and they are there for some obvious reasons...

The best way forward is to seek new markets, especially in East Asia and the emerging Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines etc.

With the fall of TPP, OBOR now shows a huge potential...

However, India is across the border. BD must seek riddance of Indian hindrance to a free flow of goods.

Only 11Bn dollors!!

We don't like China still we import their 'Made in China' trash. Our trade deficit is worth 53bn Dollors with China so some one must pay the bill in return to India. Our small neighbors are bound to pay un/willingly :cheesy:

@wanglaokan mate these Indians likes to talk trash about China. Can you provide them some wisdom...

We are talking about tarrifs here. If BD wants to retaliate for supposed anti-free trade policies by India against it, let it show its mettle instead of talking.

Anti-India crowd can do Rampal protests, why dont they start anti-India trade protests too? They have plenty of time it seems.

Instead the addiction continues unabated:

Plus no other trade partner can provide substitute for Indian TV (esp for BD womenfolk who are tired of their gamma surroundings and want some proper non-stop fantasizing of heartthrob India).

Well, we do have an access to the sea to trade with others and gradually shift it to conducive markets... The government has been trying to secure coastal shipping agreements with several countries, the latest addition being Thailand... This will reduce the cost of logistics and subsequently, increase the volume of trade with those countries...
