Top 20% in China are climbing toward US wealth average

Come on, you know the majority of them don't earn much.
Top list of richest people in Beiijng are all from other places, if you don't make much money, you can't live in Beijing, Beijing's living cost is among one of the world highest, locals have subsidies from the Beijing local government which covers housing, basic living cost and medicare but non Beijing residents don't.

那'低端人口'何来?

This poster has some sort of inferiority complex when it comes to US. 99.99 % of his threads are about america.

Yeah, I'm sure that label is originally for local Bejingers and the authorities are chasing locals out of Beijing. Is that right?
Kind of true, but it has nothing to do with the thread. I have no problem living in the suburbs even countryside of Beijing since the subways are so convenient for commuting.

Not only the Beijing locals, Beijing city municipal government was chased out of Beijing by the Chinese central government, they are 低端地方行政机构。

Well you claimed that the migrant workers are rich and owned apartments, and that 低端人口 refers to local Beijingers.
I never claimed that, you should know that 低端人口 is a pathetic joke in the Chinese social media, ridiculed by both the Chinese government and the Chinese people.

I sad it's kind of true, after a big fire killing dozens of people, Beijing started to demolish fire death trap buildings and moved certain industries and businesses out of Beijing. One can call that driving out 低端人口 or other things, not many people live in those buildings anyway.

There is no way to chase people out by forcibly opening the door and destroy private belongings along the way. Even loan sharks in Singapore don't dare to do that. Such gangsterism methods simply reflects the social status of migrant workers in the eyes of Beijing government.
And you say they are among the top 20% asset-owning class in China?

I never said that, actually most of them are probably not, I personally know some people from 温州 started from those shantytowns and became very successful and bought and moved to some of the most valued houses in Beijing, those still live in those fire death trap buildings are most likely haven't reached to that wealth point, besides, those shantytown houses are illegal buildings and those who built them care the least of safety of their tenants, if they are not torn down now, will be demolished tomorrow and many of those who built them are truly gansters themselve who the govenment are after.

So do you still think the top 20% of households have an average of RMB 4.5 million of net assets?
That's the research job done by the concerning research institutes, 4.5 million is really nothing considering your house alone can be worth much more than that in first tier cities. If you have any questions, inquire the research agencies listed on OP post.
