Nothing very unpredictable is happening. The end-game(?) in Afghanistan will involve CARs and Russia in far greater mesure. From a bilateral(?) or actually trilateral situation, it is being worked into a multilateral scenario. According to the exigiencies, even Iran will get drawn in. When and to what extent, is yet to crystallise. The aces in the game are slowly being distributed all around. Since the earlier game of poker that was being played out only saw the ante being upped all the time.

Because you need a land route for that in the first place and according to the map i saw in my 5th grade , India doesn't share a border with Afghanistan so stop making yourself look important As for Iran , if Indians think it will allow them to do whatever they want then they are mistaken ... Iran wont risk its relationship with Pakistan ... All these strategic pacts and million dollar projects you have signed will only last for so long ( i.e 2014 ) so best of luck

Iran only oppose Americans and NATO. Iran care more about Hazara Shias of Afghanistan than interest of Pakistan.

If you really think Iran won't allow India, then why is it building Chabahar port just 70-80km West of Gwadar and not protesting over India's plan to build Chabahar-Hajigak rail link.
