A clean-up has begun after violence spread in many cities around UK.

London stayed largely quiet overnight but there was unrest in cities including Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Nottingham and Birmingham, with shops being looted and set alight.

Three men died when they were hit by a car in Birmingham - locals claimed they were protecting their neighbourhood.

They are said to be Pakistani expatriates and their names are Mussawar Ali, Shehzad Hussain Haroon Hussain.

West Midlands Police have started a murder inquiry after the deaths of the three pedestrians hit by a car.
Greater Manchester Police said officers had faced "unprecedented violence".

London Mayor Boris Johnson has asked the government not to cut police numbers, saying the argument had been "substantially weakened" by the riots.

Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said he had seen "the most sickening scenes" of his career. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday morning, he said force was "absolutely intent" on bringing the rioters to justice and officers were already studying CCTV.

"Hundreds and hundreds of people, we have your image, we have your face, we have your acts of wanton criminality on film. We are coming for you, from today and no matter how long it takes, we will arrest those people responsible," he said.
Some 113 people have been held over the trouble in Manchester and Salford, where hundreds of youths plundered stores and set ablaze cars and buildings.

In Birmingham, riot police surrounded the Mailbox, the city s upmarket shopping centre, following the disturbances seen in the area on Monday night.

They were ethnic Pakistanis but second or third generation British Born,so not Expats.
This was not a race hate crime but connected to the general riots and disorder going on in UK...The car was deliberately ploughed in the group of youths stood outside a Mosque in Birmingham.
Police has made arrest almost immediately..A sikh TV crew was nearby, they recorded the footage and gave lift to police in pursuit of the fleeing car..but another Police Unit had already found the car and arrested a man..
Pilice has assigned detectives and forensic evidence has already been collected, and a murder enquiry is underway..
This is one of the decease's father speaking..This man has moved the whole country and even the prime minister payed his tributes to him.

and a detailed video about the incident

Sad news. Racial targetting seems to have started. There were reports of Sikh youth with hockey sticks and swords guarding their neighbourhoods and Gurudwaras. This is one instance where I believe the South East Asian community will get together in the UK.

Pakistani expats ? :what:

You mean British citizens. Or I'll throw you a bone: British Pakistanis.

Very poor choice of words of Pakistani media, which insinuate that they were killed because they came from Pakistan or had a connection with Pakistan.

These lads were born en raised in the UK, and they happened to be of Pakistani descent.

First of all let me tell you, there are no pakistani/Indian identity in UK.. UK society is divided in 3 part..
1. Desi: Indian+Pakistani+Bangladeshi or their descendant(british national having desi ancestors ) (All of them konw little hindi or hindi like language)
2. Gora: European race
3. Kalla : Afro-Caribian race.

Desi ppl are doing well in UK, Thats why they are on target of other community, Gora believes that Desis are taking there share of wealth, while other one is jealous of Desi's growth.
In near past it has been seen that the Afro race ppl have selectively targeted Desi ppl and their business. When such kind of racial tension mounts up, It has been seen that Desi ppl helping each other, irrespective of their place of origin....
