I don't see people in the mosques in Pakistan as much as in the shopping centers. Hardly two rows are filled in the mosques in normal days. People are free to leave fasting.. people are not obligated to pay zakat.. and still mullah have taken us hostage? Kaheen aur ja ke becho yeh manjan bhai jan

Loll.. I have never ever seen a mullah talking about OR. Heck they even don't know what OR is...

I do not need to try for anything. Reality is what it is, and Pakistan will go where its people take it. I merely observe.

You don't have to. You should worry about the country where you live and have taken oath.. a country which bombs entire villages to kill one militant.. which destroyed an entire country telling the world that the country has wmd... And never apologized

A nation can not be forged or maintained solely on the capability of military to hold it together or to shape the national narrative/discourse whereby the primacy of armed forces is highlighted either by deliberate actions or words thereto, while neglecting the import of the people that constitute the nation state.

Alas, the willingness of the people of Pakistan to subordinate the rights and interests of the citizens to an imposed idea/narrative which is decided by those in Uniform, remains the greatest challenge for the Pakistanis to realize their full potential.

An independent observer (like me in this case) can very well point out that there remains an increasing body of the Pakistani citizenry that recognizes the challenges posed by not only tolerating bigotry but also encouraging it in guise of 'state policy towards realization of security/extra-regional political goals'. However, the unholy alliance of these radicals who have the tacit and at times, overt support of the Pakistani security establishment, with certain political parties who seek to use them to remain in 'good books' of the latter, is the perfect recipe for disaster, as has been the case.

I am talking based on my observations.

In Pakistan, more people attend jalsas of pti, ppp, PMLN and other parties than the mullahs. Jamaat e Islami, jamiat e ulema Islam, jamiat e ulema e Pakistan, Sunni tehreek, tehreek e labaik Pakistan etc etc have less than 10 percent representation in national and provincial assemblies. Our TV and cinema is still producing programs that are not religious, infact some of them are objectionable content for me at least but I don't see mass protests... our courts are giving decisions free of any bias... In fact political parties have been involved in attacking courts in the past, not the mullahs, I have seen wine shop owned by a Hindu in my neighborhood..

I mean where do you see us being held hostage?

That's very over rated concept,religious politicans have very strong base,much stronger then Army.They can play religion card and get everyone on their side or on extreme they can play ethnic card.
