I am not a fan of China but what these guys are doing is even more pathetic. Protesters adopted British colonial flag of Hong Kong? WTF?! They seem not seeking for independence but they prefer British era over Chinese rule.

Well they had more freedom under British rule....also HK was a special city like no other....now its just another city in China (alongside shanghai, Beijing, guangzhou, chongqing, wuhan, chengdu, xiamen etc etc)

I guess they like to anger the Chinese with those British flags. Nothing much into it rather than they despise the communists.

That's gonna attract CCP group think zombies and a lecture on why democracy sucks. Hold your breath.

Don't care anymore. Faceless zombies trying so hard amuses me.

I grew up in HK, I know what the people there think about mainlanders (and their govt) by far.

If you look at the video carefully, there are not more than 1000 people or even less present there. But you have propaganda newspapers using the word "Thousands".

india had it better under british rule, it might have ended up like Hong Kong if Indians just kept their heads down.

instead it's as poor as Africa and has worse hunger problem than north korea and somehow it's running out of water with some of the largest rivers and rainfalls on earth

Listen here false flagging scumbag multi-accounter (before I put on ignore...and you get permabanned inevitably) .... all one has to do is look up Macaulay education policy, full capital looting of the British and forced de-industrialisation to create captive market...to understand the vast difference between India's case in British empire compared to HK which is just a mercantile based throughput port.

The rest of your lying BS, shove it right up where the sun dont shine.....you are a waste of time, oxygen and space.

Every year some Hong kongers protest and occupy somewhere in Hong Kong, let them be, Shenzhen just overtook Hong kong's GDP last year and Guangzhou is posing to surpass this year, Hong Kong was never a democracy un before 1997, now let them have a taste of it, chaos and stagnant economy, it's more and more like Taiwan now, instead of focuing on development, they concentrate on political infighting and divisive political games, we just need to sit back and watch how they ruin themselves.

Hong kong's economic prosperity was mainly because it was the only gateway to mainland China in the past, now with booming Shenzhen and Zhuhai, Hong kong is being marginalized year on year, of course they don't feel happy about it and giving up their superiority complex to the ground reality now, with this trend, Hong kong will become an average second tier Chinese city in a decade.

Many Hong kongers still miss the time when they were a wealthy rich bunch comparing to dirt poor mainlanders and being idolized by other fellow Chinese, but they should understand that those days will never come back again.

I feel sad that Hong Kong is destined to be a pariah city in Greater China if current event persisted. People outside of Hong Kong do not feel any loss, it is the people of Hong Kong that will suffer due to their irrational actions.

Hong Kong is a service industrial city, all its commercial functions can be taken over by other cities like Shenzhen, Macau, Shanghai etc. Foreign companies fleeing Hong Kong? They will simply follow the money trail to Shanghai.

Jardine House should not be allowed on Mainland and Macau.

They never had any election under British rule. All government positions, including the governor were APPOINTED by British in LONDON. ALL senior positions were held by Whitemen from the islands of Britain.

Hongkong residence got to vote for Legco only after the colony was returned to China in 1997.
