A candy company that markets its products as "hazardously sour" and uses names like "Toxic Waste" and "Nuclear Sludge," issued a product recall on January 13 after discovering it was actually toxic.

U.S. company Candy Dynamics recalled all flavors of its Nuclear Sludge Chew Bars, a brand imported from Pakistan, after the California Department of Public Health found potentially dangerous levels of lead in the cherry flavored bars.

From the FDA:

A recent test performed by the California Department of Public Health has indicated that a lot (#8288A) of the cherry flavor of the above-listed product contains elevated levels of lead (0.24 parts per million; the U.S. FDA tolerance is 0.1 ppm) that potentially could cause health problems, particularly for infants, small children, and pregnant women.
All flavors of Nuclear Sludge distributed from 2007 up through this month are being voluntarily recalled. As of yet, no illnesses have been reported.

This Candy Found TOXIC

Is this an 'export only' brand or anyone ever tried this back home in Pakistan?

Leaving the source of manufacture of this product aside. The very name chosen for marketing it, seems to be the height of absurdity. Who on earth would enjoy eating "Toxic Waste" and "Nuclear Sludge"??
Only maybe "Atomic Bandits" and "Nuclear Rogues".

That said; lead contamination/poisoning is an extremely serious matter, especially in a food product. Good that it has been taken of the shelves.
