Freedom of speech and expression remains a preserved principle on our society despite a lot of people (some of them u mentioned) misusing it to instigate hatred. it is one of the biggest strength of our democratic system.

Deep inside every human heart is a belief that there exists a supreme being that gave us the life and whatever be the life, IT will always carry us through to eternal peace. Perhaps those who are so dejected from life that they cannot accept above, are termed Atheist.
Not following established religious beliefs doesn't make one an atheist though IMHO.
