I hope they remove the IRST from the nose! It add at least 0.1 m^2 of RCS!!!

First prototype flew in Jan 2010. Second prototype flew in March 2011. Third prototype in 2012 and the last prototype in 2013? Looks like T-50 is on schedule, guys.
Please dont' bother advising them brother...I hope they remove the IRST from the nose! It add at least 0.1 m^2 of RCS!!!
the T-50 is so behind the J-20 in stealth tech it wont matter much, and with our Cloaking Devise maturing this wont matter at all as it would render the J-20 not only stealthier than the F-22 but invisible to the naked eye...
It might not contribute significantly to the RCS, even the F-35 has an IRST. IF that's not the case then the Russians have decided that the increase in the RCS due to the IRST is worth it. The new OLS system for Pak-fa is supposed to be much more advanced then what the Mig-35 has. Its increased detection range might be worth the RCS increase.my guess is it doesn't actually contribute at all in any significant fashion to the planes rcs, I was always more concerned about the shape of the bottom fuselage for the T-50.
