Don't know the history, but sounds like a bad idea.

lingua franca seems to me little bit french ... even though I have not searched about that.... but regarding arabic or latin I came to know from the comment section of the article which I was not aware of before thats why I have asked about that...

Another question what is thought in pakistans text book regarding 21st february and 1971 war and any connection between the 2 ... or nothing at all???

Can anyone tell me how come lingua franca is one of the official language of pakistan??? It seems little bit absurd to me...

Regarding lingua franca... I have found this on wikipedia... "A lingua franca (originally Italian for “Frankish language” – see etymology below) is a language systematically used to make communication possible between people not sharing a mother tongue, in particular when it is a third language, distinct from both mother tongues.[1]

This can also be referred to as working language or bridge language."

So this is french language for the italian speaking people..... But I am just wondering how come this language has become official language of Pakistan when hardly any french colonialism was there in pakistan or it is due to influence of latin language... from turkey... I have no idea whether latin and lingua franca are related or not...

From the comment section of the article that I have come to know ruler of that time pakistan had urdu as the mother tongue... so they were trying to make urdu as the official language...

Every citizens needs to be treated farely not only beluchi... same also applies to India... especially the treatment it gives to kashmiri and NE indian people and the minorities.

Bengali shouldn't have been a national language even if a large part of the country spoke that language. In that case Punjabi should be a national language today. There is only one national language and that is Urdu.

Lingua franca just means 'common language'. The term itself is latin, I think, but any language can be the lingua franca in a given context: on the global stage, English is the lingua franca because American culture dominates the globe.

Kashmiris aren't Indian.

But you can not deny the fact 65% of kashmir are under control of India... can you??? As long as that is the case Indian control kashmir is part of India so is its population...

They are under Indian control but they are not Indian. They are Kashmiris and are in an internationally disputed territory.

They are under Indian control but they are not Indian. They are Kashmiris and are in an internationally disputed territory.

Do you think that kashmiri people will try to join pakistan if they are freed from Indian control or seek an independent state if they have lots of nationalism for being kashmiri???

Balochistan isn't an internationally disputed territory it is Pakistan's internal matter, if you have nothing constructive to add to this thread then leave.

Even if its not internationally disputed, balochis have a right to equality, equal opportunities and dignity.

FYI, East bengal was also not an "internationally disputed territory" before 1971.
