The talk in the political circles is that it's the strategy of BJP to field MIM candidates so that the muslim votes will be split between SP,MIM, Congress and NCP. Otherwise, even an idiot knows that MIM cannot win 24 seats. Why have they then fielded as many!? "secular" parties would have won atleast 5-9 seats...but because of MIM fielding it's candidates, votes got split and they won only 2.

10-20 years seems like a reasonable time frame. And it will coincide with one of the most fragile phases of Indian economic development (the phase we are trying to exit now).

Sometimes you just have to trust that others know how to do their job, even if you are not familiar with the subject matter.

The ISI surely knows more about the religious politics of the subcontinent than we do.

The popularity of MIM among Muslims will be a blessing in disguise for both bjp lovers and sickular haters.If most Muslims vote for MIM that will cut a substantial vote bank of sickulars giving bjp a good chance of winning most seats from the places where mim contests.MIM can never become a force to reckon with as it can never cross 5 seats in any state(even in telangana it has only 9 seats which is the highest for them until now and all from hyd).once Muslims move to mim, congress or any sickular party won't have any choice but to depend on Hindu votes.These parties when in power think twice to take any pro Muslim decision which hurts Hindus.To be honest the emergence of such parties only hurt Muslims in the long run.MIM is saying they will field their candidates in Bengal,UP and Karnataka as well.There is a very good chance of Muslims leaning towards MIM in both UP and ktaka.That will be a very good show to watch.
