The India Myth: "The ubiquitous reports of India’s emergence as a great power are bogus."

are you getting your trolling salary on time... fo...sob

You mad bro? It must hurt bad when someone pops your bubble ;) "Freedom", "democracy", "civilized", could not have articulated better by your fabulous choice of words.

Go ahead refute the points by the writer. Aren't you Indians good at running your mouths? This is your chance.

What's wrong with an Indian writing an article about India?

Nothing ! Funny how the chinese are jumping down.

If one Indian's opinion in an article had any impact on India's future, I would have said something.

Till then it's a complete troll fest.

"Apart from the rhetorical flourishes and the impressive hyperbole, this "Rant" (as that is the most appropriate term to use for intellectually shallow and perfunctory statistical comparisons) is comical.

Comparing India's "merchandised trade" with China - the factory of the world is farcical given that China has spent 4 decades building up its industrial ability and has a greater industrial base than even the USA or Europe, where as India hasn't even started down that path. Same goes with the bizarre lament that FDI "per capita" for India compared to Thailand or Malaysia is low - which is silly considering that Malaysia is an oil producer and Thailand is the major industrial and automotive manufacturer for entire SE Asia which is a MUCH larger marketplace than India. Investment is driven by value of a marketplace - not the number of people in the market. This is basic economics, yet casually ignored by this "Eminent scholar".

The most comical and unabashedly juvenile "analysis" in this rant comes at the end, when he wades into the security/military sphere where his ignorance and almost child-like comparisons between nations only engender pity.

It takes serious courage to make public your ignorant ramblings so easily for all the world to see."

Bitter but truth :disagree:

Bitter indeed. It's like a very nasty medicine. It tastes terrible, and might sting and make you cough a little, but it'll make you better. I hope Indians can swallow this instead of regurgitating all over the thread like they usually do after taking this extremely bitter pill of truth.

Whereas everyone in this forum like to call Indian news BS and unsubstantiated, however an anti India news popping up now and then and everyone laps it up like they are under fed.

Either way enjoy denial everyone, I've read the whole article and can only laugh knowing it comes from a commie.

The India Myth | The National Interest

This is a long, comprehensive, intensely analytical article that makes up 8 pages, so I can't post it here. But do read through it.

No need to read we know we are lacking in many ways but we are ambitious and capable ,we know we are not going backward we are in right direction we are on right track. We are getting their faster than others
