The Fall Of Nawaz Sharif And What It Means For India

Reading and watching Indian media, one cannot ignore the pain they are in with the removal of Nawaz Shareef.

NS was not an Indians assets but was brought in by yanks to look the other way when it comes to India and it's hegemonic designs, even Indian sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. Indeed his ouster will take away this leverage Indians enjoyed albeit via America. This needs to be looked into regional/global allignements that are happening all over. Having a American sponsored leader, which was the continuation of infamous western sponsored NRO, is no longer in confirmy with Pakistan regional and global interests.
There are reasons why both America and UK flatly refused to cooperate with JIT investigation Nawaz Shareef assets in their respective countries.

I would prefer a PM completed his term.

What you prefer is irrelevant but you can be assured that no PM would complete the term. Pakistan is heading toward Presidential Democracy, and if IK becomes the next PM he will move to the new system so he won't complete his PM term either.

Parliamentary Democracy is not for Pakistan.

Fall of Nawaj Sharif may lead to expulsion of Najam Sethi, which may translate to good news for Pakistan cricket, which is usually not good news for Indian cricket.

Government is still theirs, i doubt if Najam will be thrown out so soon.

The Indians will miss Pakistani mangoes and sarees from the former PM...

The irony here is an Indian demanding the president of Pakistan complete his term... I mean talk about begani shaadi me Abdullah diwana.

First you survive then you try thriving ......... no one has ever been witnessed running straight away after his birth. It takes time.

Enough moral courage in current lot of politicians to step down when accused ..... instead of creating a scene out of it.

If democracy is to function, institutions need to be independent, and when those independent institution put these crooks to task ....... these thugs shouldn't try derailing the whole system. You cannot blame institutions for properly working ........ the blame should be on the person who tried convincing that his looting and plundering is necessary for democracy to survive.
Two points - a) Pakistan is not a young country anymore. It's 70 years old. 3 generations of citizens have been born and brought up in independent sovereign Pakistan. So really - youth can no longer be used as an Escuse - for any south Asian country - not even Bangladesh. It takes only one generation for a country to modernize - there are numerous examples. So obviously it is not "youth" .
b). Another poster put it more clearly than me - him being Pakistani himself - but - and I say this humbly and knowing full well that my own country has similar problems - are the institutions being used to protect the powers that really run Pakistan?

Could be. But look at it as a snowball effect. A small rock rolling down a mountain will pack up snow and grow in size. The people feel empowered and so do the civil servants in these institutions. Stories of employees being locked up in their rooms, pressured/threatened/intimidated to close cases involving influential individuals.

There seems to be a shift in direction. For those saying it's the spooky Pakistani Military, well, they're working in some other dimension that isn't limited to 24 hour days. Involved in the border with India/ Afghanistan/ Iran, military operations in the western/southern part of the country, policing duties in Karachi/ Gwadar/ Gilgit, low intensity operations in Sindh/Punjab/ Balochistan/ Gilgit, re-equipment training for COIN, and most importantly watching Cricket matches. And they still have time for foreign relations, economy, politics, and removing PMs?

Realize the Corrupt Practices Bureau of Singapore can pick up anyone just for the thought of corruption be it the minister or his family member. The Pakistani equivalent, NAB, is accused of "institutional mismanagement".

There are numerous cases of corruption against politicians while the NAB has effectively been "defanged". A minister arrested in Balochistan will millions of rupees in his house. Thousands of ghost teachers, forgery papers by State Bank officials.....

The current interim PM Shahid Abbasi, is stated to be the owner of Airblue, which he denies, but for a publicly traded company there is no record for?

Seventy years is nothing for a newly founded country ............ especially in a region that has remained under slavery like conditions for centuries. It will take time when pure indigenous systems are developed. From slavery straight into freedom 70 years ago is too little a time.

If you want me to say that its Pakistan Army calling the shots again ......... it would be dishonesty on my part. Unless I have a personal axe to grind with Pakistan and anything positive that comes out of it I have no reason to believe such an ignorant statement deprived of the facts and ground realities. New battle hardened officers of Pakistan Army are different in their thinking and approach.

Pakistan has witnessed a major shift and what we have witnessed is awareness of people ......... gradually realising that they have rights and choices. This is not one time thing it will happen again ..........

And let me inform that other poster ..........this conspiracy against Nawaz was hatched the same day when IJI was funded and formed ...... it was decided then and there that in 2017 we will somehow miraculously make Panama happen and will get NS disqualified and thrown out of power for the third time.

Come on ........... there needs to be a limit to bullsh*t.
