The Eternal Collapse of Russia

The whole world watched as Russia reclaimed Crimea, and the West could not stop it.

In truth the West (i.e. America) fears Russia the most.

The west could have stopped it easily but then the entire world would lose potentially billions, definitely not worth it for a piece of land that the only people who visit are Russians and has nothing atall going for it.

Pretty sure those results are bullshit as most British Americans just define themselves as Americans as I think the previous or previous census before that had English as the majority by a good few percentile points.

What do you prefer, @Peter C ?

Its hard to label them as 'pure blooded' German , Italian, English, Irish etc since most European Americans are a mixture of various ethnicities. Some would consider themselves 'Scotch-Irish', 'French-German', 'Russian-German' etc.

I agree some people have been here so many generations that they don't care anymore.
?

The map is the result of a survey whose purpose was to determine what language is most often spoken after English and Spanish in households. So, someone must still speak it..

The problem is as Schutz has alluded to is that some people have been here for so many generations that they have lost all sense of previous identity including language. For example I grew up in a neighborhood of Italians. Their kids could speak it but not write it. The kids of those kids can't even speak it. So the language map is going to be skewed towards first and second gen people.

Hmm no matter what I answer I'm sure to get flung off the bridge by the troll(s)

I dont get your point, i mean i do, but what are you trying to say? Ok, the map is skewed towards earlier generations, what of it? I wasn't defending the position that every American kid knows the language of his grandpa.
Was simply showing vostok how his Anglo Saxon theory is somewhat incorrect as Anglo Saxons aren't the largest group.

Audio, are you an ethnic Swiss ?

I haven't explored much on the European news section of PDF, but its good to meet Euro members here.

There's hardly anything to see there, currently it's a medium for propagating the correct, Russian version of events in Ukraine.

I had never known that Irish-Americans made up over 12% of the population. Is it safe to say that these bunch love their Guinness ?
Irish were imported to English colonies in America as slaves even before they started to import Negroes from Africa.
