What's new

The Emperor has no cloths on.

The same Regulatory Authority that now says Geo should be allowed to resume? Geo was forced to apologize and underwent the two week ban by coercion, but now that even that is over, why is it still blocked?
Not forced- but they were found in voilation of their T&C --- as far as blocked is concerned then who is stopping them from filing a case - If Cable Operators are refusing to follow the orders of Pemra then I suggest humbly to PEMRA that they should revoke the licenses of such cable operators - If PEMRA is not doing so, then there is nothing much I could or you could do it - after all they are the Regulatory Authority - they have the right to use the Enforce Agencies to issue notice ---

That is all water under the bridge. Right or wrong, now that Geo has served out its prescribed punishment, why is it still banned?

What happened?

They put the picture of a decorated army officer on TV screen for hours after hours after hours

blaming him for the shooting of Hamid Mir a journalist.

There are journalists who say worst things about army, and nobody touches them.

But Geo had to cross all the limits of journalistic decency on this topic.

Wrong analogy Sir. The victim who was shot, survived the attack and made the accusations. Geo merely reported them. In Ferguson, what allegations the deceased's family made were accurately reported as well.

Obviously you have a specific belief on this, so I can't give enough examples where TV and media follows much better ethical standards than geo.

Carry on Sir.

You seem to support keeping the Army above all criticism, whether be it fair or foul, that is all, while I support calling things as they actually are. That Army General was in change of the agency the victim accused of trying to assassinate him, and therefore the coverage was appropriate, given that he is not the first journalist to suffer grievous bodily harm where the ISI is suspected.

But, like you said, to each his own.

I hate to set up a boogey man or a poor goat for some pathetic escape.

Hope you understand.

There are good politicians and bad ones.

There are good generals and bad ones.

but you won't see me announcing that the whole political system is corrupt
or the whole army is corrupt.

Thank you

You may not be announcing that the whole political system is corrupt or the whole army is corrupt, but the overall results prove that the lack of corruption exists now only in a few areas. The majority of the rest is rotten, which explains the results very adequately.
