The caste system casts a shadow on India’s growth. But under the will power of a few and the determinedness of educated new generation Indians combined with the helping hand of authorities , the barriers of caste systems are being broken. The best example for this is the success of Dalit Indian Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (DICCI). Started in 2003,DICCI in an association of dalit entrepreneurs. The association also leads a helping hand to the emerging entrepreneurs. The authorities has offered their support to the success saga of DICCI by making it compulsory to make 4%(Rs 94,000 crores) of its (union government’s) annual purchases from units setup and operated by dalits and tribals.

The DICCI was the brain child of Milind Kamble. Kamble followed the advice of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar,who urged dalits to educate themselves. Milind Kamble now heads “Fortune Constructions”,which was started in 1995 with a contract worth just Rs.1 lakh. Now his 100 crore company under takes projects like the Pune-Lavasa road and Baramati water supply scheme.

Kalpana Sarioj was married off when she was in class 7. She lived with her in laws in the slums of Mumbai. Unable to withstand the torture , she ran off. She came back to her native village and reunited with her family. The poor dalit women who once tried to suicide is now the chair person of kamani tubes,110 crore business empire and the DICCI.

Ashok Khade walked bare foot until his class 12, though his father was a cobbler. At times he and his family just drank water and slept ,with a burning stomach . His village had two separate wells-one for dalits and one for brahmins. Now he is the king of DAS Offshore Engineering Company. The company gives job to a 3,500people and works in synch with the ONGC. When he became big, Ashok laid pipelines everywhere in his village , bringing water to every home.

With the churning out of younger generations, India is slowly exterminating all the castes and creeds. “I don’t care if a guy is dalit or brahmin or hindu or muslim. I don’t give a damn about it. All I matter is his behavior towards me and the society. How can a person be judged by his birth? Its his way of living that judges him”-says Sampreeth Sudakar , a first year engineering student of Travancore College of Engineering.

this has nothing to do with UP my bhai!

caste prejudice/violence happens in those rural poor areas where many uneducated village dwellers continue on with their awkward and caste-based lives the only way to eradicate the caste prejudice and violence is through much needed social reforms, education, and development only then will the lower castes that make up a majority of the poor in India have their status uplifted.

Caste system will be thing of past within 2 decades and all this caste system should completely disappear by 2050-60 . Hope Pakistan learns from us and becomes more tolerant society otherwise it would cease to exit.

^^^ bro don't mention Pakistan in a completely separate discussion they have their own issues let them deal with it. not to offend you or anything but just saying its troll baiting.
