[Ishraq Ahmed] makes many claims. Among the more plausible and specific is that spies from India’s Research Analysis Wing (RAW) operate in the country. He claims, too, that for two years RAW has had an office within the headquarters of Bangladeshi Intelligence in Dhaka and a “direct submarine cable for communications” back to India. He claims that Indians conduct electronic surveillance in the country and kidnap suspects from Bangladeshi cities. Indian prodding, he adds, encourages the government to crack down on “anyone with beards. Any practising Muslim is vilified and portrayed as Taliban.”

Politics in Bangladesh: Turbulent house | The Economist

Yiou can't blame me for plugging my own blog but it is a great find. The Economist really blew this apart.

How, by posting claims made by one of the absconding accused in the islamist coup plot??? Thats quite brilliant I must say

I really liked that undersea cable to India from Bangladesh for communications with India. Thats pretty qewl even for hijb ul tahrir guys.

There is wide difference between so called claims and real truth. And the paragraph you mentioned seems Ishraq Ahmed added too much mirch-masala to the story to make it too much spicy. :girl_wacko:

The Economist describes his comment as plausible and specific.

Look at his two claims:-
1)direct submarine cable for communications” back to India.
2)anyone with beards. Any practising Muslim is vilified and portrayed as Taliban.

This clearly shows the guy is lying 100%. And you have mentioned his point as the most important thing in your blog. Laying down submarine cable from where to where, beneath sea from Dhaka to Guwahati, Kolkata or Agartala

forget it he gets his rocks off by posting anti Indian articles. when ever i see a thread from him , i take it with a pinch of salt.

It has been already established that RAW runs Bangladesh Awami League, we don`t want foreigners running our sovereign nation, thus this government has to go, not by a coup but a fair and legal election. It seems sheikh Hasina is manmohan sing`s *****. Joy is no way a Bangladeshi at heart, the man married a foreigner lived almost all his life in a foreign land, i don`t get how a sane man can marry a foreigner and a white woman at that. He is only after his own agenda that is to make money and hold on to power. Joy basically sells an extremist Bangladesh to the west to keep his party in power and hasina on the hand is run by India. Enough of this government, it has to be sent packing home. Joy should be sent to prison on the charges of corruption, hasina should be exiled and sahara khatun should get a makeover.
