The Daily Fix: Gau rakshaks murder another Muslim. Is bovine anarchy India's future?

Il be honest.

Zia used religion as a tool to control the state, we are facing the side effects (despite Pak being a 95% Muslim state).

BJP is again using religion as a tool for politics... any Pakistani jingoist would actually be happy over the developments taking place in India.. and you know why.

Without any malicious intent, I'd advice sane Indians to not repeat the same mistakes we committed.

The outcome for a multireligious and polarised country like India would be far worse than Pak.

Thank you for sharing your concern, I am sure @The_Showstopper will keep us updated on action taken by Police in this case.

Hey buddy, you as an educated person, a lawyer nonetheless shouldn't support or advocate communal violence (which I often see you doing)...

Ironically I see the reflection of you in my country too, the way you support those vigilantes, religion inspired murderers and scumbags , the same way some lawyers did for Mumtaz qadri (blasphemy murderer).

Law will take it's course.

I didn't see such breast beating by the secular folks when BJP/RSS workers are hacked to death in Commie bastion of Kerala just for having a different political point of view. This selective outrage on the human lives has lost it charm.

And what about Commies that are killed by RSS/BJP thugs??

I did say law will take it own course. And I say again Whoever takes the law in his/her hand must be brought to justice, Period.

Strict laws are there against cattle smuggling but police has failed to implement them for various reason, which gave space to such vigilante groups. At times people do die from either side in such clashes, it's not something new and has been happening for decades.

Nah I merely pointed out the selective outrage, I didn't say don't prosecute these guys. Police will do whats required.
Selecive outrage? Your desperation can be seen. Inter-group violence happens everywhere, not sure how you ought to compare it with the above incident.

You can also post it since you've been too concerned about Police action rather than the incident. Koi rok nahi hai bhai. :pop:

Exactly, every murder case must get exposure but that doesn't happen in India sadly. Unfortunately such cases are reduced to politics and people are getting sick of hearing only one narrative.

This is also a case of inter-group violence, cattle smugglers does carry firearms and shot at these groups. Heck they don't even spare policemen.

More commies are killed in political violence than RSS or BJP workers. But still you would only talk about RSS jokers since you are affiliated with their fascist ideology.

This doesn't look like a Inter-group violence. They weren't any Cow smugglers and they were clearly unarmed.

According to India Today , they have found various receipts of the required money paid by the men to Jaipur municipality and other government offices to to carry the cows legally.

After a Muslim man died of his injuries after being beaten up by gau rakshaks, or cow vigilantes, in Rajasthan's Alwar, state home minister GC Kataria has said has now said that both parties were to be blamed for the Muslim man's death because cow smuggling was illegal in the state.

He made the shocking statement to the press on Wednesday:

The minister justified the incident, where a bunch of men beat a man to death, by saying a case had been registered for both the sides.

Kataria's comments come two days after Pehlu Khan, 35, died of his injuries.

ANI had report that Khan was among the 15 Muslims from Haryana's Nuh district who were attacked by cow vigilantes over suspicion of smuggling cows in Rajasthan.

In Rajasthan, the slaughter of bovine animals is punishable with imprisonment for a minimum of one year and a maximum of ten years.

While the incident was widely reported on Tuesday, a video of it has emerged on Wednesday showing a group of men beating a Muslim man, and vandalising a truck carrying cows.

Azmat, 22, who was with Khan, on Saturday told The Indian Express, "We were returning from a Saturday fair in Jaipur. I had bought two milch cows for Rs 75,000, and I had all the valid documents with me. We were not even trying to hide the cows, as we were taking them in a pick-up truck. At around 6 pm on Saturday, the gau rakshaks stopped our vehicle and asked us our names. They allowed our driver, Arjun, to leave."

The other members of Khan's group have been arrested and have been charged under the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (prohibition of slaughter and regulation of temporary migration or export) Act, 1995.

Alwar attack: Gau rakshaks killed a dairy farmer, not cattle smuggler

WHEN PEHLU Khan, 55, set out on the 240-km road trip from his home in Jaisinghpur village, in Nuh tehsil of Mewat, to Jaipur last Friday, he was planning to buy a milch buffalo. A dairy farmer, he was hoping to increase milk production during Ramzan. But on Saturday, he decided to buy a milch cow instead, as the seller extracted 12 litres of milk in front of him and offered him a good deal. That decision cost him his life.

But Irshad claimed they had receipts to show that they had purchased the cows. Showing the receipt, which has the stamp of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (serial number 89942 dated April 1, 2017), he said: “I don’t know how an FIR was registered stating that that we had no purchase receipt. I bought the cows for Rs 45,000.”

The five men were also robbed of their wallets and cellphones. Irshad reportedly had about Rs 75,000 while another person lost about Rs 35,000.
