Not really, I lived in US for many years and I know how their media portrays China. That's why for most Americans when they first visited China, they were all shocked and exclaimed that is not what they learned about China in US, while most Chinese have no such shock and think that's exactly what they learned about US back in China when they first visited US. Check youtube vlogs and see how Americans say what they learned about China back in US are all wrong.
