The US tankers are the stars of the show, they are very powerful, they extent a fighter's range, weapons load, if these don't sound important to you, then I can tell you your fighters won't make it to China even if they went unopposed.
Not insulting you guys, just based on the amount of fuel, that can be the only option, no matter how good the pilot is, as long as he can't piss oil into his fighter, he's not making it.
They can also simply extent a fighter's operation time, which is also critical for controlling an air space.
KJ-2000, gives a great advantage to China and one of the reasons for my lack of respect for Vietnam air force, the AEW's range is more than double the radar range of a fighter, which means without it, we can detect you far quicker, and it also has way more other effects, like facilitating communication, disruptions in opposing fighters systems and more.
KJ-500, the most recent medium AEW is still under testing for a new generation of AEW, with the imminent induction of Y-20(already going into all terrain and weather trials) the KJ-5000 or 3000 forgot the name, will soon be inducted as well.
The H6 bomber is indeed a good bomber, it allows launching air cruise missiles, and dropping bombs like a mad men, while not as big as the Stratafortress, it is also been repeatedly upgraded, and the old bombers are no longer in service.
With these we can more effectively conduct missions due to the sheer amount of bombs they can carry.
One of the reasons the H6 isn't needed for a replacement is because as long as they can be upgraded for the missions you need, they don't need other things. They are not air superiority or multi role, they have one role, raining hell when your force has air superiority.
The missiles are under the jurisdiction of Second artillery, and not sure why it is in here.
In everyway the AEW, and oil tankers are far more important than even the J-20, and J-31. They extend the range and effectiveness of your fighters by a very large margin.
