The HAL Tejas flew its first public day demonstration at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition on Mar. 29. For some unknown reason, the drag chute was jettisoned a few seconds after deployment.

This lead to a delay in the flying display program as the recovery crew from the RMAF had to drive down the runway to collect back the chute.

glad that nothing serious happened.
such incidents can happen although its not the best time. but sadly we don't have control over when a mishap happens.
 
Well, “performance issues” are not uncommon if one gets “too excited” while trying to “impress” someone by doing something one is not capable of.
