Taliban have been taking a serious bloody beating in Waziristan by Pakistan Army Operations. Their weapons caches, compounds, intel/documents, men, have been destroyed and or captured.

From the intel provided by PA, TTP have suffered badly and are broken into cells, they can make desperate attempts and attacks but they can't hold ground or hold influence anywhere. As far as the attack on the PAF Faisal Base goes that is still being investigated, as some suggest possible inside help, TTP higher grade training, possibly foreign backing, etc...
