Taliban neither Islamic nor Pakistani, asserts Malik

Islamabad, Nov 17 (IANS) Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Wednesday that the Taliban are 'mercenary killers and they are neither Islamic nor Pakistani', stressing that the country stands united against terrorism.

He said Pakistan will one day uproot the menace from its soil.

The minister made the remarks when he called on the bereaved families of the police personnel killed in terror attacks and wished them wellbeing on the occasion of Eid.

Malik said: 'Not a single day passes in Pakistan when a soldier or a police personnel is not martyred in any terror activity whatsoever,' Geo TV reported.
