you can search for working years of panini and it is in 4th century BC..
some people claim that rig vedas are from 1200-900 BC
Rig Veda: 1200-900 BC
but i have no doubt that they are older than that considering rig veda mentions of sarswati river which has died almost 4000 years.
Recent Research on the Sarasvati River
classical sanskrit is undoubtedly the oldest language in the world..
Did u think it is that proof ,even i can provide such proof like inscription and research data.
And u talk abt saraswathi river which is myth. so can I talk abt Lemurian continent (which is termed as tamil people continent).
I need solid proof like scripts which preserved in India or abroad.
Over 1000 archaeological sites have been found on the course of this river and they date from 3000 BC. One of these sites is the prehistoric town of Kalibangan in northern Rajasthan.
The town has proved a treasure trove of information about the Bronze Age people who actually lived on the banks of the Saraswati. Archaeologists have discovered that there were priests, farmers, merchants and very advanced artists and craftsmen living there.
Highly sophisticated seals on which there is evidence of writing have also been found, indicating that these people were literate, but unfortunately the seals have never been deciphered.
tamil brothers will never accept this....i have no problem with sanskrit..i just love its flawlessness...
not all Indian languages.Tamil,Telugu,Malayalam,Kannad have different origin,if I am not very much mistaken, its Tamil.
Tamil is actually older a language than Sanskrit.
i am not saying that tamil can not be the oldest language in the world.....but have you even given a chance to those links i posted? here is a BBC link from above link
BBC NEWS | South Asia | India's 'miracle river'
Sarswati actually did exist and it is proven now...it is no more a myth...
I don't knw abt that saraswathi river research ,now i understood becoz of u thanks. Even Lemuria got some proof but still long way to go. cheers mate
This has been ages of misinformation. Tamil was the oldest language to split from Sanskrit, mate. It was the first language that split and went parallel as a separate language, but it essentially did come from Sanskrit. All Indian languages have. And very highly qualified Tamils accept this.
Do you know that Tamils Hindus (the priests) pray in Sanskrit as well?
Malayalam IS itself tightly wound Sanskrit spoken very fast. I being Sikkimese could make out the meaning of lot of words correctly.
This is a misconception. Sanskrit is the oldest language while Tamil is the oldest breakaway language from Sanskrit.

Experts here debating/fighting on which language is older...that too in a Pakistani forum??!!
Heck...when the Pakistani members used to call Indians as trollers, i used to think it was just a rhetoric..but now I guess I'm wrong!
