some people always see death, rape and destruction in india. is it because they search the net whole day for these kind of news or they r genuinely concerned abt india?

I would have agreed with your post if you would have said the something to that guy Veeru. But any ways.

:disagree:

1. I am ignoring the OP's intention in opening the thread.

2. It gives me profound sadness and shame when events like these keeps happening, yet some high headed ones would rather discuss India's economic might and our need to HAVE UNSC seat then concentrate on how to root out these evils from within us.

Just because they were poor and had to go to Govt hospitals, someone's wife, daughters died for such inocuous reason.

Hope all the scumbags can be brought to justice.

Press Trust of India JODHPUR, 25 FEB: In a case of negligence, 12 pregnant women have died and four others are battling for their lives after they were allegedly administered contaminated intravenous fluids following which police has lodged an FIR against the drug company and a local distributor. A case has been registered under Section 328 of IPC (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence), against the Indore- based Parental Surgical India Private Limited, and a local distributor, for allegedly supplying contaminated IV fluid that is believed to be the cause behind the death of 12 pregnant women in hospitals here. “ We have started the investigation and checking the stocks. A total of 5,000 bottles of this drug of a particular lot were supplied to the hospitals. The unused bottles of the medicine have been seized along with the drug of the same batch in the market, ” police commissioner Mr Bhupendra Kumar Dak said. Twelve women died after profuse bleeding post delivery in Umaid and MG hospitals since 13 February, while four are battling for their lives. A few patients at the hospital are also feared to have contracted infection through the same IV fluid and have complained about excessive bleeding. Umaid hospital superintendent Dr Narendra Changani said that the administration has registered a complaint against the manufacturing company and the local distributor Mr Anshul Pharam, who supplied the contaminated stock of the IV fluid. The distributor was, however, released late night following a protest by the Drug and Chemist Association, police said. Investigating officer Mr Dhagla Ram informed that close to 10,000 bottles of the IV fluid have so far been seized and a report of FSL (Forensic Scientific Laboratory) is awaited. Three out of five samples, sent for test by the Umaid hospital administration, of the fluid are reported to have tested positive for strains of micro-organisms, said a report. The entire batch of the IV fluid used earlier has been withdrawn from use from all hospitals, and alternative arrangements are being made, said sources. “ We are trying to find out the exact reason for these deaths led by profuse bleeding, ” said Dr Changani. He claimed that the IV fluid of the same batch had also been administered to patients in other hospitals and even to children but it has not shown any negative results. Meanwhile, the condition of 30 pregnant women, including six who had undergone cesarean section in the hospital, is said to be stable. Meanwhile, a two- member panel of the state government arrived in Jodhpur yesterday to look into the death of the women. The team visited Umaid hospital and checked arrangements like operation theatre, labour room and wards apart from holding discussions with the six-member committee constituted by the SN Medical College administration to probe into the cause of deaths.

Jodhpur: A Jodhpur police team is in Madhya Pradesh's Indore town to quiz the manufacturer of the IV fluids which are suspected to have caused the death of at least 12 pregnant women in a hospital here due to contamination, officials said on Saturday.
The team led by a sub-inspector rank officer is likely to seek a search warrant from a local court in Indore against IV fluid manufacturer Parental Surgical India Pvt Ltd which had allegedly supplied the contaminated IV fluids.

'We will seize the documents related to manufacturing of the particular batch of IV fluids which were administered to the deceased women,' said a senior police officer.

In the meantime, an enquiry has been ordered into the tenders floated by Mahatma Gandhi Hospital (MGH) here for procurement of IV fluids for three government-run hospitals in the city.

'It has come up that the name of Parental Surgical India Pvt Ltd was not in the list of 19 bid winners, but despite that it supplied the IV fluids to three hospitals including Umaid Hospital through Anshul Pharma,' said a medical and health department officer.

The principal of Dr SN Medical College, Jodhpur, R.K. Ansari has asked Mahatma Gandhi Hospital to conduct the enquiry.

Over a period of 10 days, at least 12 pregnant women died of excessive bleeding at Umaid Hospital here after they were allegedly administered contaminated IV fluids of a particular batch manufactured by Parental Surgical India Pvt Ltd.

Hospital superintendent Narendra Changani had lodged a complaint with the police against the company and a local distributor's firm Anshul Pharma after microbiological examination of IV fluids suggested presence of some bacteria. A medical team comprising a microbiologist and a gynaecologist from the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur, that had been sent to Jodhpur for investigation Wednesday, has also handed over its report to the state government.

The condition of four women who were administered the IV fluids during childbirth is still critical. They are admitted in the intensive care units of Umaid Hospital and Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and are under observation.
