Syria: Heart of a global struggle?

And what makes you so sure that in both Libya's case and in Syria's case it is not the will of the people?? Clear your mind and get down from the high wall you climbed.

In any country if even 10% people go out on the streets the country is ungovernable. Let me give you the example of Pakistan if 10% went on the streets that would be 18 million people. Even with one of the largest armies in the world, ISI and nukes you think they could be controlled simply no.

In Libya it was a minority who without western interference those supposed rebels couldn't get out of Benghazi. If you look at countries where there is real popular uprising the govt doesn't last a week.

We can't trust on Iran either, we must take all and every kind of steps necessary to ensure our security and interests. Most importantly it's time that we must stand on our feet and work hard to reduce our dependencies, It's not impossible task.

Of course Pakistan must do what its in its own vital interests.-Simply not interested in any sides. I even like the idea if we could come to an agreement with Israelis that they don't support India we assist them. Pakistan today finds itself disliked in America and Israel for its support of Arabs.

What about fear?? Not because they did not get out it means they like the government?? Have you put that into your equation??

It is being orchestrated. Interesting new was the conflicting reports from the Arab League field reports. They blamed all on the guy from Sudan because he was with Sudans Bashar the white european don't like. These guys couldn't even get their stories straight. AP and Reuter doing a daylight bright yellow journalism with the spin runnin overtime.

Having said all that nothing entails Bashar to the Presidency. Its just simply wrong. His father was there for decades and was a dismal failure.

Using death squads to incite the anger of the people is just simply wrong in any scale. If anybody opens fire on the Occupied folks, it will turn into a whole diferent ball game.

True. Israel is absolutely no threat to Pakistan. Though Pakistan and Israel differ ideologically, that doesn't mean that you can't cooperate. China surely does not endorse Zimbabwe's system of government, but we also cooperate.

If Israel can agree to not support India, Pakistan can agree to recognize Israel. Might be painful for the Islamists, but in the end, I believe nationalism will win out in Pakistan. Just being religious doesn't help, you need a strong nation. Praying didn't help the Afghans and it didn't help the Iraqis.

LOL soo much hate for the US. It seems whenever something bad happens in the world the US is to blame. They are responsible for earthquakes in Iran to South American leaders getting cancer. Do people really believe the US is responsible for all of the Arab uprisings? Take Egypt for example, the US was supporting Mubarak but are also supporting a double game of supporting the opposition? With Syria its another US inspired CIA-Zionist Nazi Zombie plot.
People are not giving credit where it is due here, the Syrian people. It is understandable they are upset their country is ruled by a person who has no legitimate right to be there. Simply being born as the oldest son of a dictator does not give you the right of rule. Its a dictatorship right out of his fathers book, murder, torture and indefinite detention are often used tools of this regime and the Syrian people are sick of it. Technology, globalization and enlightenment are inevitable forces that will not be stopped. The days of sons taking over power from their fathers are thankfully coming to an end. Assad is a throwback to the dark ages and it has no place in a modern society. So move over Assad and allow the people to determine their own destiny.

Hmm, let me get this straight. Just checking to see if you agree.

Torture, murder, indefinite detention are bad. Having them in a hereditary monarchy is also very, very bad. A son taking over for a father is a throwback to medieval times. These countries should be bombed.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Swaziland, Bahrain, Qatar. Hmm.

Torture, murder, indefinite detention are bad. - Yes agree

A son taking over for a father is a throwback to medieval times - Yep also agree
These countries should be bombed. - No dont agree. I dont see what point you are trying to make tho.

Let me ask you one question- Are you OK with the rule of a country being passed down from father to son?

Of course not. That's a horrible system of government.

But why should we intervene? Is it our business that they have this system of government? In addition, how much of what we see in the news is true? Do you ever question the objectivity of your news? Does it have a proven record of being objective? If not, then you should examine any claims it makes.

Just because Assad is a hereditary dictator, does that make everything he says a lie? If he said 1+1=2, would you deny that and say it was instead 3? A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowded market in Syria, is that a terrorist attack?

The opening post and subsequent comments make the claim that the US is responsible for the Syrian bombings and the Arab uprisings are US plot. I dont believe this suicide bomber was CIA connected.
As far as your questions regarding news objectivity and sourcing is concerned I would say this. I do not trust any source of media that is government controlled, government or corporate affiliated that may have a reason to push an agenda. I dont care if its Australian or Chinese. Im a big news junkie and usually go to maybe BBC or ABC, then go to FARS or DAWN, get both sides of the story and try and make up my own mind. There are also some good independent sites out there like therealnews.com and counterpunch.org. I totally understand humans are essentially very pliable creatures that are willing to believe anything.

As far as why should we intervene, well thats my point here. I dont believe the US is intervening to the extent some people make out. Its just US bashing by people who are trying to push an agenda or have no idea on anything military.

Syria is an important player for the region, the no fly zone in Libya was taken from protecting to civilians to ousting Qaddafi , Syria is allot more important to Russia if the USA or EU were to call for a No fly Zone Russia would veto, however Assad holds to keys he could fully unleash a Sectarianism War between all the groups if his regime finally fell.
