Sri Lanka Tamil fishermen crossing over to Indian waters is negligible.. Where TN fishermen encouraged by their political masters plunder SL waters by their thousands.. They openly admit they have devastated Indian waters with illegal fishing methods of bottom trolling and saline fishing.. They have no fish in the Indian waters.. Most SL fishermen get caught trying to navigate through to International waters through Indian economic zones.. They are deep sea fishermen looking for tuna

So no it's not a case of both sides affecting the livelyhood

Whats their(Srilankan Tamils) opinion about these illegal poaching??..

There is no fish there mate.. They have devastated Indian waters with internationally banned fishing methods like bottom trolling and saline fishing and they unashamedly openly admit to it.. Hence the TN fishing mafia owned by politicians are sending thousands of trawlers to poach in Lankan waters while destroying it's marine wealth as well

While Sasikala's girl friend jayalalitha keeps writing letters to PM Modi whinging about SL Navy confiscating here girl friends trawlers..

Sri Lanka cannot tolerate Indian fishermen destroying resources - President Rajapaksa

Sept 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka cannot tolerate Indian fishermen using destructive methods and depleting the island's fishery resources and destroying the environment, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

"Fishermen from the Indian side have been destroying the environment, using massive bottom trawlers, which are depleting all the resources of fish, and we cannot tolerate that. And bottom trawling of this kind is banned even in India now," the President said in an exclusive interview to the Indian daily The Hindu yesterday.

The President said however, he cannot allow the boats confiscated from the Indian fishermen to return because they will return and "do the same thing again."
