150 billion in next 4 years if you add in the advance as well. They'll pay rest of 310 billion after 4 years (in a period of 3 years).

This is for all of the land in Malir. Bahria Town is in possession of 16,896 acres of land in Malir district.They have already returned over 7000 acres to Malir Development Authority. Its not a perfect deal i wanted it to be at least 100 billion more but the point is we got enough money to reimburse people who were wronged and then some.
Actual value of 16896 acres was around 550-580 billion now. All things considered this is a good deal we cant be bogged with long cases against everyone at the same time and the state in its current form cannot sustain it at least this guy has most of his possessions in Pakistan.

At one time he was offering close to 1000 Billion. Supreme Court could have settled for 1200 or 1500. 460 is actually a 1/2 or 1/3 of what could've been possible.

No Sir, he started from 300 billion, Supreme court was asking for 1000 billion initially

I commend Malik Riaz for doing it, he could have just folded his office and leave like others did

Good. Despite it's dodgy practices [which company is'nt] Bahria is a dynamic enterprise. This way state get's the money and Bahria survives. Good for state. Good for economy.

I'm more concerned about where the money is going to go. The Sindh government, after claiming throughout the trial that it did not suffer any losses, is asking for the money to be deposited with it, as is Bahria. We all know what's going to happen with it there.

I hope there is legal room for the settlement amount to be deposited in something like the dams fund.

It's going to be monthly installments totaling 460 Billion. Allowing for installments is the correct approach - you don't want to bankrupt the business either.

The fine should go to the owners of the land by rights as compensation.

I misunderstood, 1000 billion was asked by the court. @Salahuddin Ayyubi in post #22 have clarified.

I think you are wrong. It was SC that wanted him to give atleast 1k billion but he was offering 300 b at that time.

Its better than nothing but honestly I am becoming more disappointed every day. It seems that nothing has changed in our country. This thief is paying a very low fine for 20+ years of state sanctioned thievery. The value of the land at risk is far greater than what he is paying. So essentially, as usual, the judiciary is saying if you can pay your way out of theft you can get away with it in Pakistan. Sad.
