Isn't Bangladesh is richest country of South Asia now and fastest growing economy of world? Why affordability is still an issue?

@waz
Where you find Pakistan in the post? I am talking about affordability.
I honestly believe that we need to buy better things .Military equipments are not daily goods that we buy regularly. Can we afford big ticket toys?
Clearly BD isnt the richest country in South Asia.
Your sarcasm wasnt appreciated.
We are simply discussing a credible news report regarding the US asking BD to buy American weapons.
Cost is an issue even for the US.

Your official is clearly linking buying US Arms with affordability for Bangladesh, So how me asking why it's not affordable became sarcasm?
All countries in South Asia are poor. Richest among them does not make rich in the true sense. It’s like Chinese, North Korean and South Korean are fighting to claim my d**k is the biggest but they have got some of the smallest in the world.

State department is bu!!sh!tting. We have been waiting for 4 C130s to be purchased from their surpluses from a long time. They kept stalling it. Plus why should we go to a country that uses their political clout stop other countries from using the purchased weapons. They also denied turkey, an important Nato ally, to purchase the patriot missiles. The only relented when turkey went ahead to purchase s400 from russia.
Bangladesh should realise that they are only saying this because they want to remove customers of Russian and Chinese weapons. They will dangle chewed up carrots like the coastguard cutters until they get a better negotiation position from these two countries. IMO, bangladesh should only buy from US only when bangladesh feels its necessary, not because usa wants us to buy from them.

The only thing changed is what USA does realise that they have had enough of giving you unlimited textile quota. Let see what Titsy bitsy Bangladesh can do.I don't think so.
But what is interesting is that something has changed.
The US seems to see BD a little bit differently from years past.
And BD seems to see China a bit differently as well.
I think for whatever reason BD is very reluctant to buy from the US, I guess for pricing reasons mainly.
However, its good to see word of the possibility from official sources.
till 50 years, lets brag youThe only thing changed is what USA does realise that they have had enough of giving you unlimited textile quota. Let see what Titsy bitsy Bangladesh can do.
Unfortunately it’s a big boy club, you are no where to be seen even in next 50 years.

Knew this would wake you from your slumber lolSo? It makes it even more fun to watch the BD posters do this drama anyway lol. "Things have changed.....nggggghhhhhhhhhh".
Only thing that has "changed" is they gave the US scumbag politicians a few more talking points (reading off a script) for virtue signalling about free state in Arakan blah (free talk for zero action in the end, the politicians best scenario).....but again you try talk to them outside of the chambers about Bangladesh....and they go "huh, whats that?"
But let them dream. Maybe they feel low-base effect will kick in somehow here too given they import just a little over a billion from US a year yet talking here as though they import something like 10 billion from them (a level one can argue to try start get noticed, given they have zilch in strategic significance).
Pakistan with all its problems imports twice that from US (three times if you include services trade)....where's the vaunted cash surplus BD superpower I wonder?
