Why is China scared of an inquiry into the origins of Corona ?

What gives you the idea that China is scared of an actual inquiry into the origin of Corona when China is openly openly supporting the research into the origins of COVID-19 which is a strain of Corona which has been around for decades.

This is not even remotely related to the origins of Corona or COVID-19. This is about participating in and endorsing a political farce were career politicians put up a play to "formalize" alegations and a political statement about China detached from any scientific approach and then sign it, kickstarted by an regime of notorious liars.
