What's new

South Asia's largest sewage treatment plant opened in Bangladesh.

Abe lungi,
Why are you blabbering so much

Reported.

@waz, @LeGenD bhais, this thread and any other Bangladeshi threads have become the literal pandemonium and slugfest of uneducated Indian Hindutva trolls engaging with name-calling, insults and ad-hominem attacks, coupled with posts of no value, like the one above.

The standard of the forum (especially the Bangladesh section) has now gone down the drain.

Trolls keep posting garbage like the one above and get away with it - because they know the mods are busy.

Unless we check this sort of sub-par behavior with posts of no value, it will keep getting progressively worse, inviting more sub-par behavior. Which will discourage thoughtful and knowledgeable posters to post altogether.

Something has to be done. Kindly comment and lay down a course of action so we can recoup some order in these parts.

My suggestion is to get more volunteer mods to establish some order. And maybe also some sort of Paywall-related discussion categorization. I will be the first to volunteer to raise the standards of the forum.

@buntalanlucu

i foresee bangladesh become a far more advanced nation compared to india due to their cooperation with china.

If SHW remains in power, will happen almost certainly.

@Bilal9

Bilalbhai,

This is far larger than any of their urban waste treatment plants if I'm not mistaken. Please correct me pujaris - be glad to be proven wrong.

No, I dont think we have anything like this

Regards

Thanks for your sane comments.

I believe this is the first of three urban waste treatment plants around the city of Dhaka, there will also be one each added in Chittagong, Sylhet and Rajshahi cities as well.

india can be a great power (no not a superpower) on the same level as pakistan , but the govt of india dont care about their people and only care about the 1% richest indian oligarchs who use modi to extract $$$ from their own people..

sadly the indian masses are hypnotized by endless media lies and jingoism , this coupled with indian nature of being easy to be scamemd and tricked really works on their oligarch's favor.

india will be a cesspool of chaos and evil while pakistan and bangladesh will grow into great countries

@Bilal9

Bilalbhai,

And maybe also some sort of Paywall-related discussion categorization.

If you are suggesting that PDF should be made a paid site? Not a good idea, it will only increase, not decrease the Hindutva domination of this site. We are best the way it is.

Regards

Abe lungi ,
your Pakistani uncle whom you were defending brought India into discussion and now you are crying for trolls.

My suggestion was that only a portion of the site (dedicated responsible members) was going to be paid (and by invitation only). It does exist like that currently to an extent, but we can increase the scope of the modding a bit to upgrade maintenance and control - which will save the forum from a free-for-all by uneducated trolls that we currently see (use of fowl language and undesirable ad-hominem attacks).

Uneducated people who are unable to provide substance, gravity and seriousness to a polite discussion (to educate fellow PDF'ers and to add value to the discussion) should not be allowed to post abuses freely. And one liner posts should be discouraged as well. These are actually the current rules.

Posting abuses seriously brings down the quality of the forum. We want serious discussions here, not abuse of fellow posters like we see now. You can exchange opinions (even spirited ones to disagree), but open name calling is pointless and detracts from the subject(s) at hand.

In any case - let the mods kindly decide. This is off topic - we should discuss it with the mods, not here.

You know - it just dawned on me that even in the area of human waste treatment, cleanliness and hygiene, we beat India.

This is far larger than any of their urban waste treatment plants if I'm not mistaken. Please correct me pujaris - be glad to be proven wrong.

This is probably also the only sewage treatment plant in Bangladesh. Imagine a country like Bangladesh, with such high population density, extreme poverty, you ll need at least 100 more plants like these.

Also,

Dhaka opens new sewage plant but it’s not plugged into sewers

Seems like Hasina uses the STP to dump her rivals in.

Given your comments - I should not have engaged, but I do want to point out something briefly.

You mentioned extreme poverty in Bangladesh.

Are you aware that India's per capita GDP nominal is lower than that of ours?

Per World Bank:
GDP per capita (current US$)
Bangladesh $2,688.3
India $2,388.6
(2022)

So if we are extremely poor, what does that make India?

Few things,

1.) Bangladeshi data, economic or otherwise is laughable.

2.) The data you keep sharing is one of aberration. Here's the latest data, and if IMF is to be believed, Bangladesh is expected to stay below India in the near future as far as per capita GDP is concerned.

3.) Despite having similar per capita GDP, the poverty in Bangladesh is more pronounced and infrastructure is poorer, because a 2600 USD per capita economy the size of India has a much bigger wad of money to spend on infrastructure compared to a 2600 USD per capita economy the size of Bangladesh.

4.) The fact that this is Dhaka's, first ever STP, that too made using Chinese loan proves my above point.

5.) Bangladesh's population is at least 3 times more dense then that of India, making the squalor, stench and filth that much more visible and concentrated.

"Here's the latest data, and if IMF is to be believed, Bangladesh is expected to stay below India in the near future as far as per capita GDP is concerned."

And then "proudly" shows the latest figure where Bangladesh's GDP per capita is higher than India.

Not really hard to guess the rest of your post is a typical garbage coming from 50 IQ brain. Stop embarrassing yourself you nitwit!

Actual GDP per capita of India should be even lower. They are using old population data for India as they haven't had a census since 2011.

Lmao, yes higher by a whole 9 dollars. And come next year, India's is supposed to be ahead of BD by 200 dollars.

Enjoy your moment while you can.

Well, you can laugh. Its not a problem. But, we aren't running scam centers in our country like hindustan. Our data is much more reliable compared to our neighbors.
2.) The data you keep sharing is one of aberration. Here's the latest data, and if IMF is to be believed, Bangladesh is expected to stay below India in the near future as far as per capita GDP is concerned.

Even your own screenshot shows our per cap is higher. lol...

LOL, we have better HDI and better per cap income. We are late in this infrastructure building game, give us some time and then we should have this talk.
4.) The fact that this is Dhaka's, first ever STP, that too made using Chinese loan proves my above point.
No it doesn't. We have our own way of doing things. Just because our way of thinking is different that doesn't mean we are wrong.
5.) Bangladesh's population is at least 3 times more dense then that of India, making the squalor, stench and filth that much more visible and concentrated.
LOL, we live longer than indians. That argument alone is enough to counter your nonsense claims.

cool now bengladesh can shit on india i wish the power plant dump the waste into india.
all indians are now jealous that bengladesh has treatment plant but they have to shit outside on the road where modis escort will ride over the shit sliding out of control.
