It is a Pakistani forum and Pakistanis getting their a55 kicked in every sports imaginable equals no comments.
Pakistan can learn from this and improve their performance in the next games atleast. There can be comments around that as well. Constructive criticism with suggestion to problems is always good.

There was a Pakistani boxer. Made a name in few international tournaments. But needed more support from Govt. At last gave up and went to South Korea where a club sponsored him.

There are a lot athletes who gave up due to similar circumstances.

Pakistanis should give more importance to sports other than cricket. Even Pakistan football is ranked around 200. Where is the money going? Is there even a government policy of investing in sports?

Unfortunately there are not too many videos. This South Asian Games was not even broadcast in India. I've posted one Volleyball video but I'm not able to find anything interesting other than that.

First of all there is little or no money at all. The little fund they receive is lost due to incompetent or mostly goes to cricket. Another factor is public interest. Almost whole 220 million people are obsessed with cricket and no other sport.

An example is Hockey. Pakistan's record in hockey is still unbeaten. But we didn't qualified for world cup this year.
In case of Football, there is scoop but public wants cricket.

A second string Indian team has won ~55% of Gold medals. The next closest competitor which is Nepal has won ~15% of Gold medals.Pakistan on the other hand has won ~10% of Gold Medals.

Aren't these sports events a true reflection of where each country is right now? India doing well economically is naturally at the top. Nepal being the host had more athletes and got more medals than they usually get. Sri Lanka is the most developed country in South Asia and punched above its weight. Pakistan and Bangladesh have never done well in these events. I was expecting more from Bangladesh to be honest. Maybe, atleast a 3rd position but it was not to be.

Records in these Games:

  1. On 2 December 2019, Nepal women cricketer Anjali Chand created history by registering best bowling figures in any international Twenty20 match. She took 6 wickets for 0 runs while playing against Maldives.[16]
  2. On 3 December 2019, Indian shooter Mehuli Ghosh clinched the 10m air rifle gold with a score of 253.3 in the final. Though her score, which is 0.4 more than the current world record of 252.9, created by another Indian shooter Apurvi Chandela is not recognised by the international body ISSF but is the Games record.[17]
  3. Indian high jumper Sarvesh Anil Kushare created Games record in the final of the high jump event. He jumped a height of 2.21 meter breaking 2.20 meters set by Sri Lankan athlete Manjula Kumara at the 2004 edition.[18]
  4. On 5 December 2019, Karthik Unnikrishnan of India broke the previous Games' Triple jump record of 16.45 metres set by Indian Renjith Maheshwary in the previous edition. He jumped a distance of 16.47 metres to win the gold medal.[19]
  5. On 6 December 2019, 2018 Asian Games champion, Tejinder Pal Singh set a new Games record in Shot put. He threw the shot at a distance of 20.03 metres breaking previous record of 19.15 metres set by another Indian athlete Bahadur Singh Sagoo in the 1999 edition.[20] On the same day, Sri Lankan men's 4x100 m relay team consisting of Himasha Eashan, Chanuka Sandeepa, Vinoj De Silva, Yupun Priyadarshana, set a new Games record, timing 39.14 secs bettering 39.91 secs previously set by Indian team in the 2004 edition.[21]
  6. On 7 December 2019, Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem created a new Games record in Javelin throw. He threw a distance of 86.23 metres bettering previous distance of 83.23 metres by India.
