its high time a coordinated effort is mounted to protect the ships from these pirates. right now individual countries are guarding there own interests but i prefer a global treaty on this. let each country with decent naval power be given a particular area to defend. then protection of any ship becomes responsinility of that nation.

right now govts are reluctant to engage these pirates if the targeted ship doesn not belong to their country. a global treaty will reduce this menace extensively.
