Software used in 737 Max crashes linked to Indian software companies

When programming is done as a rote-learning system rather than actual passion and understanding for the subject; this happens.

India’s information tech boom as every idiot wanting to program and factory churning out these copy pasters(transcends into all forms of Indian academia).
The geniuses that once defined the halls of IIT have moved onto greener or higher pastures.. and whats flooding the coding halls are mindless drones.

That's my feeling too. However FAA should have identified the difference in coders.

They need to investigate further why budget cuts cost lives of people half way around the world?!

Dont they test what they buy? Or are the testers also on budget cut?

So what if software development was outsourced to India? This is nothing new. It’s ultimately Boeing’s fault for letting faulty software through. They need to look at their integration and QA processes.

Or Boeing was being greedy by cutting corners.
The blame/culling always starts from bottom up.

in order to avoid any future mishaps or confusions, complete Boeing and other Aerospace industries of USA should be handed over to India, to makers of Technological marvel Tejas.

Morons who are bashing Indian companies roles in these nonsensical articles which have primarily mined other data from social media resume of individuals who worked on display modules for Boeing, do not have any freaking clue of how gate reviews for VA/VE works. As far as Indian software professionals, every major bank, aeronautical company, the automotive company leverages Indian Software firms. If any quality issues were caused by the subcontractors, Boeing simply shouldn't have accepted sub-par work.

Coming to this particular forum with the barrage of threads on the topic, that is aiming to target HCL should remind themselves that HCL> a so-called lowly software firm has a revenue of 8.63 billion dollars, to put that in context of this forum; that is close to twice of the entire revenue of the entire IT industry of entire nation of Pakistan.

Question is of quality. Working with outsourced companies from here is quite a nightmare. It saves costs but adds too much of back and forth. And Indians dont understand the cultural context and expectation of the corporate environment here. Not the fault of an Indian engineer but outsourcing has limits.

The software which has issues here is a critical safety feature. It should have been developed in house.

Boeing had serious issues with quality recently. Its has nothing to do with Indians. Its the measures they take to cut costs. Boeing 787 has some new issue surfaced recently. It had too many quality issues when it first started flying.
