Firstly , we need to evaluate this news

a) Its coming at time , when US is anticipating a retaliatory response of some kind
b) It needs to show its dominating posture , which is attained by right out harassment of Muslim population even if the evidence is no existent

Now, from a diplomatic stand point , Pakistan should ask for its citizens back , rightfully as they are Pakistani first , American citizen is inferior to Pakistani Citizenship

Secondly , we do need to make sure that illegal harassement of Pakistani citizens must stop

Also why do you guys think US has been creating a large Database of Pakistani nationals , even NADRA gave up all records on Pakistani nations to US intelligence to help facilitate the matter of identifiying Pakistani nationals. Obviously its to prevent pakistanis from entering US

However, the timing of these arrests and the projection of this arrest in media as well as that of the David Headley trial in Chicago is not accidental. Pressure is being applied on Pakistan gradually. Step by step. 'Do more' or else!
What is also amusing is that Americans themselves have variously and publicly acknowledged bringing the 'moderate' Talibans to the fold of Karzai govt. Now, I know, a 'moderate' Taliban is an oxymoron but there are definite overtures to some shades of Talibans by the the coalition forces, certainly by Karzai who has publicly called Mullah Umar as a 'brother'.
So when will Karzai be arrested then?!
But all expats be careful: A $5 donation to some 'charity' is enough to declare you a 'terrorist sympathizer'.

yes of course the timing was probably done for ''effect'' --- these people do not get monitored and arrested overnight. Their crime could be anything; they may have or may not have known that they were supporting TTP.

if they are innocent, hopefully they are cleared...if not, we should have access to them......


and regardless of outcome, it does give them the opportunity to say ''we caught these people here....so please catch these people in north waziristan'' or something along these lines

as for moderate taleban and reconciliation with American forces --- I recommend you look at today's Washington Post. It's ongoing, and has been for some time. That is why it's bizarre that when we do it, it's considered bad; but when others do it, it's okay.
