This is a good thing. For the 1962 war, despite other reasons, the final showdown was triggered by the mis-communication that no one understand other's intention so paranoid prevailed. It is a good thing that the relation improves and a vital hotline is open on any potential conflict. All problems between India and China can be solved on the negotiating table. Your words are rather harsh but I can understand what your are trying to say. The 1962 border war was not caused by miscommunication at all. There had been years of official communication on border issues between Zhou Enlai and Nehru. Nehru miscalclated, thinking he could get away with his adventurism. China was having serious economic trouble post the Great Leap Forward. US was hostile toward China. China and the Soviet Union was starting to turn against each other. Nehru saw a golden opportunity to get adventurous. A little lesson taught him otherwise.

its benificial to boath the countries. with the confidance building measurs the trust amongs the neighboer will increase.
IMO the best way for CBM is to reduce force build up on the border & a combine task force pertolling on the border. also regular border meeting will also help.

Ahhh That's a bit harsh and all of sudden I am a hanjian now. Do you think Japan's invasion and China-Indian border war are the same thing? It is for the exact reason that both China and Indian were colonized by the whites and are still tricked by the western powers to go against each other that I say an improving relationship is of the best interest of both countries.

It is more complicated than this, yes Nehru almost single-handedly cause the war. But one important reason China decided to upscale the war was the belief that India wanted to take Tibet by force after India took Goa militarily. If you consider the 1969 war between Soviet and China that is in a much smaller scale you will understand. That's what I meant by "The final showdown was triggered by miscommunication".
