Should we be concerned about global warming? Is global warming going to destroy the entire world and cause humanity to become extinct?
Is humanity doomed because of global warming?
Worrying won't help since neither the US nor China, the countries which produce most of the world's carbon emissions, seem to care and are continuously polluting the earth. The countries most affected by Global warming are by and large underdeveloped or developing countries; not the USA or the developed world.
Many low lying lands, coastal areas and archipelagos will be engulfed by the sea. Maldives and Marshall islands will be wiped off the face of the earth, a third of Bangladesh will be threatened by the sea, many coastal areas with agriculture and population will cease to exist and so on.
Severe weather events like massive floods, heavy downpours, severe heat waves, hurricanes and droughts are already happening; their frequency and scale will only increase with time.
Increase in temperature and changing weather patterns will badly affect agriculture. Crops will loose both their yield and nutritional value.
The melting of glaciers will first cause floods and then droughts; this also implies that fresh water sources will become scarce.
So unless you live in the US, Europe or Russia, you will have to worry about your future generations, but worrying alone won't help.
