British ships had Phalanx CIWS in Falklands war. CIWS does not have 100% success rate. 1970s Exocets are also nowhere close to modern anti ship missiles which are much faster and designed to tackle CIWS.

Please check your history correct. There is no CIWS for any of the british warship during Falkland war... Radar is very primitive and not able to detect sea skimming an low flying object. Now is different. Anti-Warship at subsonic is not some magic weapon. Unless its saturated attack with whopping 8 missiles going at the same ship, chance of penetration will be higher.
