Sharp plans Vietnam factory to sidestep trade war

We can scale up our manufacturing very quickly if we want. What we need is technology, money and manpower. Trump says this week if China doesn’t want trades, he is fine. Exactly what I predicted time ago.
We produce one billion shoe pairs a year, not much difficult to produce ten billion shoe pairs. Whatever TVs, computers, displays, cars, trucks, spare parts. Or smartphones. Let’s say the West stops buying chinese smartphones. No problem at all. Vingroup one smartphone factory alone can produce 125 million pieces a year. We can replace Huawei very quick if the company is banned.

Good luck making ten billion shoes from your small county.

Small country?
No longer a problem!

Technology is the answer.

Take Adidas speedfactory: all shoe making processes are automatic. Faster, cheaper, flexibler, less workers

Why bother going for cheap labor and saving cost in Vietnam if they could just automate, it's going to be people power in Vietnam.

Because we can export unhindered to western and eastern Europe, plus western and eastern pacific countries. While trade barriers are erected everywhere every corner of the world.

It’s worthless if you can produce shoes but can’t sell. No Fdi money will flow in.

Bcs the investor will get Zero tax when export to EU and US havent slap 25% tariff to VN yet.
EU also wants China to buy their stuff so I doubt taxes will be that high more like 1% to 5% tax which is irrelevant.

China became the world's factory due to cheap labor not FTA. So having no trade barriers is a lousy excuse, the same thing with Singapore FTA with a lot of countries but nobody build factories in that country because labor is too expensive.

Why should the EU lower tariffs to zero to chinese products? You mean the EU desperately needs chinese products or the people here are stupid?

Vietnam labor costs are half of China. China has cheap labors but we are cheaper

You must be ignorant, it's pretty well know China buys a lot of farming goods in the EU. Even a Cheese ban for a French cheese due to health reasons has the EU dispatch a diplomat to talk it over with Beijing which is successful.

That is You that is ignorant!

If you ban a product whatever be cheese or toilet paper by false pretext, it’s understandable that EU officials knock your door and ask the reason.

You can’t violate a treaty as you please and blackmail the people.

Sorry but there is no FTA between China and the EU so when that happen, China can do whatever it wants for legal reasons.
