Science & Technology doesn't progress: While new knowledge is discovered, old knowledge is forgotten i.e. naturally destroyed.

It is because there is no way to store all the knowledge. Other factors play the role of slightly accelerating the destruction of knowledge but the actual destruction happens naturally. The accelerating factors include corporate greed, ego, racism, wars etc.

Example: New advances are being made in medicine i.e. pharmacy and surgical technology to cure diseases. But a more elegant solutions to these medical problems already existed till 19th century in the form of homeopathy. Now those elegant solutions have been lost with the disappearance of homeopathy in 20th century.

The Law of Conservation of Knowledge is as follows:

Knowledge can neither be created nor destroyed. It can be converted from one form to another. The total amount of knowledge in universe remains constant.

A human mind , grows for between age 5 and 15 before puberty , learning basics of knowledge
A mere 4 years to learn (Marginally more) advance stuff (University /College) and that is what we call our learning

Only 0.0001% people on planet do even more advance research

Knowledge Saving is exponential, it used to consolidate in Libraries and now with Corporations

What is limiting is ability of Human to understand all of it in their life time. Knowledge which is useful to perform certain goal is retained while older one is ignored it still exists in Books and Libraries

After next mass extinction even if we had a big library to help survivors with knowledge they may not have the ability to recreate what is in the books

Loss of Knowledge is sometimes due to own choice example USA decided to destroy Saturn V rockets after moon missions because they were scared of giving that knowledge up to others

Analog Phones are example of forgotten technology but it is because new phones are clearer with digitized signals'


Knowledge which existed in 1950's vs what Exist 2019 is drastically different in amount and capacity so it is not constant , total knowledge today exceed the knowledge in world of 1950


Not all Knowledge becomes irrelevant even if the Masses forgot about it
Example , a Lemon + Water drink , accelerates metabolism a natural way to lose weight

A Corporation would invent a fancy drink with same ingredients and call it fancy name with synthetic ingredients

At least for food there is the "Seed Vault" at Svalbard. This vault should be replicated in a few other parts of the world.

Plus, these vaults should contain DVDs of other knowledge ( like how to create a car ).
