Yep you heard it right Saudi Arabia is making video games for the PS3 PC 360.

Developer Semaphore is making a game about the hero "Faris Jawad" who is searching for Ibn Battuta's treasure.

Anyways I admit it is a clear Uncharted rip off but you have to start somewhere I am supporting this full on. If this game succeeds then a video game industry in Saudi Arabia will be born. Here are some screen shots and some videos for you to Enjoy.

It is still in early stages of development so cut them some slack lol.

Thanks, I was wondering why they had picked an Action/Adventure game. I would have thought the big money is in RPG or FPS games.

Yeah me too. But I guess just like the cars another development company is going to step up and make other genres. a UAE company made an MMORPG game that lots of GCC people got addicted to lol.

Most of the popular genere in KSA are war and auto racing from the fact that a friend of mine owns a 300 seat gaming cafe in a predominantly Saudi neighborhood.,

Call of Duty and Need for Speed go off the shelves in heart beats. Saudis love these two series. Which is sad since Call of Duty was ruined by Activision in trying to milk the world more money by copy pasting the original Modern Warfare Engine in all Their Call of Duty games why do people keep buying that thing is beyond me.

I sometime fill in for a friend of mine who owns a video game store when he is busy.

...and I thought the game would be more like Assassins Creed sort of. Anyway, good going for Saudi Developers and I hope they'll be able to produce Splinter Cell - Conviction kind of real time scenarios in this game.

Yeah me too. But we are talking about a developer who is composed of about 7-10 people working and is also kind of under-funded and had to resort to facebook Ads to pay for the game's development. (There is Unearthed online in Facebook a multiplayer game with main purpose of spreading the game and to get Ads money for game development). Warning though do not be like the rest of the Youtube idiots who play the facebook version and then say this is what the final game will look like.

They are targeting PS3/PC users, so one can get a feeling that they'd need loads of efforts to make them buy this game as there are quite a big and famous number of franchises with some awesome games on their shelves. COD, Battle Field 2, Assasins Creed are such examples. There was a game recently released for PS3/PC called 'Homefront' which looked promising but by playing the first 10mins of gameplay, one can get a clue that the developers didn't put much efforts into real time scenarios just like they were implemented in COD and the likes and eventually the game lost popularity.

Game development is a serious job and I personally wish them best of luck and is looking forward for it's release.
