Doctors linked to the opposition said the bodies were among 100 people believed killed since security forces attacked a protest camp on Monday.

Reports said a feared paramilitary group was attacking civilians.

Sudan's ruling Transitional Military Council (TMC) vowed to investigate.

Residents in Khartoum told the BBC they were living in fear as members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) roamed the streets. The paramilitary unit - formerly known as the Janjaweed militia - gained notoriety in the Darfur conflict in western Sudan in 2003.

"Forty bodies of our noble martyrs were recovered from the river Nile yesterday," the Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors said in a Facebook post.

An official from the group told the BBC that they had witnessed and verified the bodies in hospitals and that the death toll now stood at 100.

A former security officer quoted by Channel 4's Sudanese journalist Yousra Elbagir said that some of those thrown into the Nile had been beaten or shot to death and others hacked to death with machetes.

"It was a massacre," the unnamed source said.

On Wednesday, the head of Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC), General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, apologised for the loss of life and called for resumed negotiations - reversing a statement the previous day in which he said dialogue was over.

But a Sudanese alliance of protestors and opposition groups rejected the invitation. One of its leading members said the TMC could not be trusted.

The deputy head of the TMC defended the violent suppression, claiming that the protesters had been infiltrated by rogue elements and drug dealers.

"We will not allow chaos, we will not allow chaos and we will not go back on our convictions. There is no way back. We must impose the respect of the country by law," said Mohammed Hamadan - also known as Hemedti.

What is happening in Sudan?
Demonstrators had been occupying the square in front of the military headquarters since 6 April, days before President Omar al-Bashir was overthrown after 30 years in power.

Their representatives had been negotiating with the TMC and agreed a three-year transition that would culminate in elections. But on Monday, forces swept in and opened fire on unarmed protesters in the square.

On Tuesday, Gen Burhan announced that negotiations with protesters were over, all previous agreements were cancelled, and elections would be held within nine months. Demonstrators had demanded a longer period to guarantee fair elections and to dismantle the political network associated with the former government.

International condemnation of the crackdown was swift and on Wednesday Gen Burhan made another televised speech in which he said the TMC was willing to resume negotiations.

Protesters had called for the Islamic festival of Eid al-Fitr, marked on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, to be celebrated in the streets, as a gesture of defiance against the military.

But much of Khartoum is under lockdown. Witnesses said protesters had retreated to residential areas where they were building barriers.

thats what we call Western approved dictatorship
west approves that and Saudis are only doing what west wants them to do.

while in Pakistan, BBC is making programs on Pakistan hidden human rights abuse as its long lasting habit of hate for Pakistan army

Saudi arabia killing more than 100 people(or ordering 100, same thing), shows how strict muslim Saudis are... what a joke..
Sudanese General , Egyptian General etc all are lovely dictators for west because they do Western bidding. Saudis take the blame for West as well.
it is shameful for sure.

All Muslim and Arab states with the exception of tiny Qatar (should belong to KSA in the first place and nowadays not much more than a US base - they will soon come to their senses either as an independent tiny state or as a part of KSA), Mullah-ruled Iran and Erdogan-ruled Turkey (although not officially and he is still trying not to piss us off too much) are our allies and have close ties with us.

Notwithstanding the religious, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, ancestral, historical bond hence people of power in Sudan openly stating the following:

http://www.arabnews.com/node/1501621/saudi-arabia

This is a clout that no other Muslim state has and that obviously bothers some. Understandably so.

Likewise the irony of an Iranian user (refugee in the Netherlands as seen) speaking about regime x or y killing people is laughable given the fact that the Iranian Mullah regime is and always has been supporting the biggest butcher in the region by far in Al-Assad. Only on PDF such nonsense can be posted.

You really believe that Turkey are afraid of pissing you off but not afraid of pissing your masters of like USA and France?
Dude, i have no idea what you guys eat there or how you live, but there is a IQ difference for sure..
Turkey thinks that Saudi people are brothers even though their kings lost their mind. they just dont want to hurt the relations people to people to keep a room for good relations in the future.. you just need little brain cell to understand it.. just stop smoking hookah first

You think that KSA is afraid of a country that cannot even conquer any significant area in Syria next door and who have close to zero influence in the Arab world and who are outnumbered against us on all fronts and a country with a economy smaller than just 1 Arab state (KSA)? Must be some joke. I would not speak about IQ's here as the contribution of Arabs to the world is much greater than that of Turks. By far. No comparison here with all due respect.

BTW you did not understand what I wrote. Turkey cannot afford to piss off KSA as that would indirectly piss off most Arab countries and countries of the region. Pissing off means here being hostile as the Mullah's of Iran are. Turkey have enough of enemies and problems already.

We consider Turks as Muslims brothers as well and there is no hatred. Only against those who hate us (Arabs) but I know for a fact that this is a tiny minority of Turks. Do not forget that one of the largest ethnic groups and oldest in Turkey are Turkish Arabs. The First Lady is one such example. We cannot hate such people. Many Turks of Anatolia are also Turkified Arabs.

I wrote a fact. Every Muslim country has very great ties with us expect those 3 I mentioned currently. Erdogan could become wiser and stop playing a double game with the Mullah's of Iran or Qatar. If he stopped that KSA and Turkey (alliance) have the potential to rule this region if that is what the leaders want to.

BTW your username Kamil is an Arabic name and you are from Azerbaijan and not Turkey.

Thing is, Erdogan's hostility towards the US was always part of a populist campaign effort. He never went too far with actual hostility such as Saddam, Gaddafi, Assad. Infact he works with the US and Israel, all hostility remained on the level of speeches an threats which is the way he gains support, Erdogan has always used the strategy of portraying Turkey as the oppressed victim to create anger amongst people and he used that to keep getting votes.

Turkey doesnt really push for anybody to afraid of themselves. ANybody, from our region knows that if you order us to do something, we would most probably do the opposite. S400, and others are an example..

Saudis order Turkey to cut relations with Iran. For us, its a shame, to cut relationship with a neighbor just because somebody order it. On top of that, if you threaten us for not doing it, thats not gonna happen.. You really need to learn emotional part of us..

Turkey defeated ISIS and PKK on their strongholds, within days. PKK had concrete underground roads everywhere, i wonder what would you do if you face such a threat? you dont even have such missiles..

Saudi Arabia was wrong again and came to help PKK. I believe thats the wrong call.. Now, im afraid that Turkey will make problem for you in every part of the world you are in.. recent Livia deployment is an example.
Seems like you guys cannot differentiate countries, you try to act the same way as its the easiest. But, you pay price for being like that..

You were acting like a tiger just minutes before, but do you even know that Turkish army technology to Saudi Arabia and UAE increased 1400% and 450% respectably last year. Seems like they want to and some sugar behind doors..

You are calling KSA a US puppet but we have more power in the US than any other regional country not named Israel. We have had a trade surplus with the US for 40 + years. We have zero US bases on our soil or Western bases. Many in US blame us for 9/11 (largest attack on the US in history) yet they did not touch us. Our largest trade partner is China. Same with nuclear projects (nuclear power plants, uranium extraction etc.) Our strategic projects (ballistic missile project) is done with China (their biggest rival). We never listen to their democracy nonsense. We supported anti-US elements in Iraq openly. We are anti-MB unlike US which are pro-MB and pro-Gülen.

We did not order anything. Iran is our greatest regional rival since 1979. Before we had good neighborly ties. The problem is that regimes policy in the region. Iranians are suffering 100 times worse than anybody in KSA and yet they never learn.

Are you even aware of the fact that we control 85% of Yemen (a country bigger than Iraq and Syria combined) and with 30+ million people and very mountainous (most in the region) against the most heavily armed militia/terrorist group in the world in the form of Houthis and regular Yemeni army units loyal to them? Which terrorist group has ballistic missiles i the world? Come one. PKK is a joke in comparison. ISIS too. Only SAA and the Iraqi army had great combats against ISIS in the region (Mosul etc.). Not saying that PKK Is a piece of cake but call me when they have what the Houthis have and when they control entire capitals in foreign lands.

What nonsense is this? KSA has never supported PKK. Where do you get this insane idea from? Some Qatari (Al-Jazeera) or Iranian (PressTV) propaganda? KSA stopped Syria intervention in 2014. We have a war in Yemen if you forgot. Conflict with Iran everywhere else. Syria is Russia's backyard now and Al-Assad won. We will eventually improve relations with him again as pre-2011 where they were very good. Moreover the opposition is mostly MB which is against KSA (House of Saud) hence we stopped support in Syria. If we had gone all in in Syria Al-Assad could be gone now before Russia came to save him. We disagreed with Qatar and Turkey due to your MB project. The final goal was to topple the regime in KSA so obviously the regime stopped this cooperation. Understandably so. Qatar did the same thing with Gaddafi 10 years ago during the latest conflict with the Houthis. We all know how Gaddafi ended. With a pistol up his ***.

You will say that this is bullshit but we have it on tape!

Our disagreements with Qatar date back to 1995 when they created Al-Jazeera and invited the US (their largest base in the region) and Qatar trying to act like a regional power with 200.000 natives!

BTW The goal of DAESH and AQAP (primary) is to topple the House of Saud. Just like that of the Iranian Mullah regime. Khomeini said it already back in 1979. Al-Baghdadi's latest recording talks about KSA 1/3 of the time. No coincidence.

PKK (communistic, socialistic, godless - total opposites of KSA there is no more anti-socialist country than KSA in the region) now allies with KSA? What can we use them for? Some anti-regime elements in Iran are undoubtably supported (regardless of ethnicity, Arab, Kurd, Baloch etc.) but that is fair game when Iran is trying to do the same. Example - Al-Nimr criminal family now completely executed, lol.

Ardogan used US, for its own policy. When KSA and everybody were together.. However, Saudis backstabbed and changed the policy to make isis who will work for them. you see one thing but dont see the real picture

I really appreciate the way you write man, very honest and open. It also shows that you are not a troll, which means a lot. good to know you and always open to discussions. I will also make sure to get rid of words that diminish others, just little more professional.. ;)

I believe you guys doing good, but forget that you put yourself in a possition that more open to attacks in the future. Nobody knows whats gonna happen if Democrats win the election. Instead of getting muslims heart as Mekka is in your land, you get more and more hate for the things in Yemen, Libia, Sudan and so on..
For now you look good, but seems like you dont have long turm goals.. imagine Turkey gets really mad and suplly anti air missile to houthis and others after 2022 when they are ready to supply. What is gonna happen at that time? will you be able to hold those ares?

Well, I never trolled. Just openly saying what I believe/think and arguing my case. If everyone agreed it would be boring.

Well, hate and love is always going to occur even if we did everything perfectly in some fantasy world. That is the same with every other regime in the region and Muslim world. No different. However due to the history of the land that make up modern-day KSA, it's people, the Islamic perspective, the historical, ancestral, linguistic, tribal (in the case of other Arabs), KSA will always have a special place for every informed Arab. The land and people that is. Not talking about rulers here.

I am always mentioning the example of Iraqi Shia Arabs from the South. Go on social media, Twitter, Youtube etc. and watch any Saudi-related video and TONS of the well-wished, brotherly comments etc. are from those same Iraqi Shia Arabs. Because blood, geography, history, language, tribal/clan relationship (even though it matters little nowadays but it is always something that you know that you are somehow related rather closely), is always more important than sect difference in the same religion or politics. At the end of the day. For most people that is.

We have long-term goals and always had them. Look at the amazing development that the country has undergone since the 1960's. Keeps growing on all fronts. I don't know what the goal is of ruler x or y (as they can change like the goals of every leader just look at Erdogan for instance and his many changed policies in recent years) but most people would want to see close Arab and Muslim cooperation.

Houthis are already the most heavily armed terrorist group in the world (only on PDF - by some trolls, are they called barefoot something) so nothing would change there. Also have in mind that this is the fight of Yemenis first and foremost. We have limited troops in Yemen nowadays and are helping create a new strong Yemeni army. A work in progress that so far is going very well.

However given the strong opponent and them being non-xoncentional forces (hiding in cities and civilian areas), especially in densely and mountainous Western Yemen, the process is complicated.

Problem is that humans (by large) are trash and brother is killing brother. Hence the many conflicts in the world and the few Arab countries in civil war. In my perfect world (said it for ages) Arabs would be cooperating on all fronts and cooperating with regional countries as long as those regional countries do not have anti-Arab policies such as Iran. Or deluded dreams of long gone entities from certain others. My username speaks for itself btw.

The conflict in Libya is retarded (already wrote that earlier today) and 99,9% of all Saudi Arabians are neutral and only hope for the best for our Libyan brothers and sisters. What the regime is doing is their doing. Haftar or that other guy. Al-Faraj (tribal family native to KSA) is what it is. At the end of the day Libyans are killing themselves. Not Saudi Arabians killing them. Same in Syria. If the same one day happens in KSA, I will blame idiotic and opportunistic locals.
