Satisfactory increase in remittances for FY 2021-2022 vs FY 2020- 2021 | SB of Pakistan .

There was a fear that with the Imported govt in place, remittances may fall down. But looks like such fears are overblown.

That was never really a fear, except for certain hysterical cultists. Remittances will likely remain stable to slightly increased for the foreseeable future.

SAH sb,

That was never really a fear, except for certain hysterical cultists.

Well it seemed from PDF posts that the whole of Pak thought so.

Remittances will likely remain stable to slightly increased for the foreseeable future.

It is quite reassuring.

Majboori mei bhejay gaye paise pe itranay wali konsi baat ha?
People have to support families and loved ones……

Remittance growth in last couple of years was wrongly attributed to the charisma or confidence inspired by ruling PM at that time. In reality, it was because of devaluation of currency and high interest USD account for saving (Roshan). As long as these two factors remain, remittances can continue to roll in. However, extreme devaluation of rupee can give diminishing returns in the long run. How or when this affects money transfer from abroad remains to be seen :undecided:

Remittances can't slow down dramatically, it is simply impossible. Families of overseas Pakistanis living in Pakistan need the money from their family members working abroad.

@Mugen

It won't fall because a lot of us send money back to people we know or care for, so during worse times, we might be forced to send more.

That is a very interesting insight! It means that the worse Pak is governed, more difficult will be the conditions of residents and thus higher will be the remittances from overseas Pakistanis. Counterintuitive but logical.

However, I would like to mention that I would be more willing to send, and invest money in Pakistan with IK in power. I have zero trust in PMLN, or PPP and would be very reluctant to invest in Pakistan with them in power.

Too many roshan schemes being pushed on holders of roshan digital accounts……
If i hav money I’ll buy my own car and house, don’t need bank involvement! Cash is king…..

It wasn’t remittances more so than investments.
Remittances aren’t much of an option for many - people have mouths to feed so regardless of who is in power or what process is followed; if you have to send your mother her monthly expenses I can guarantee you will move heaven and earth to make sure it happens.

Ironical that you were more than willing to invest in Pakistan whilst the country's standing in the perception of corruption worsened not to mention the added benefits of weekly changes to policy documents.

People will continue to invest and send needed help to Pakistan no matter what. The sharp rise during last governments term was forcing people to use traceable means and methods led to an increase of documentation.

Everything else is just propaganda.
