In End a 2 match ban and may be 40 hour training course should have been done to re-educate, A 6-10 year ban was really not proper punishment
If bookies had a problem it has nothing to do with cricket it's their own private matter
As far as cricket is concerned Salman Butt 100% tried to win the game and did so
Salman Butt or any Pakistani cricketer are not trained on laws of bookies and their code of honor

Indian Cricket board, rigs the pitches every series , if we go by the book they should be banned first to collaborate with bookies to rig the pitches
The ban on Salman Butt, Asif and Amir was really the first time I have seen a successful athlete banned for winning , cleanly
a) No doping charges (Performance Enhancement Drugs)
b) They won but were banned for winning
