Salman Butt Replaces Mohammad Hafeez in Lahore Qalandars Squad

Mohammad Hafeez has ruled out of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 for 2-4 weeks after picking up a hand injury during a game against Karachi Kings.

Lahore Qalandars did not announce the replacement straight away but after consultation with the management and the coach, Salman Butt has been announced as Hafeez’s replacement.



Salman Butt has been seeking a comeback ever since he was found guilty of spot-fixing back in 2010.

It is important to mention that Butt has showed good form following his comeback in the domestic cricket.

His National T20 Cup performances were praised heavily and there were rumors that he would even make his way back to the national side. He was the third-highest run getter in 2018’s National T20 Cup whereas ranked 3rd in 2016.

Salman butt should not get a second chance in the national team. He has served his sentence that's given but as a leader the way he corrupted the very people he was suppose to shelter and protect is simply unforgivable. He and muhammad asif are good batsmen and seamers respectively and thus both should be used to impart training to young bowlers and batsmen.

I personally never thought he did any crime , perhaps a 2 match ban or warning would have been enough.
Because

#1 He won the match
#2 He did not under perform
#3 His team won the match easily

To me cheating is deliberately under performing or have no desire to win

Soccer, players often kick the ball out as they please
Basket ball , players take as many 3 point shots as they want
Running , players intentionally drift behind and make their move in last few rounds (Strategy)
Tennis , players decide which round to put more pressure on opponent


Few no balls are no different as they did not impact the outcome of game
